You sneeze and sniff, shivering. Your standing at your window, a blanket draped around your shoulders, watching the archers practice shooting. Legolas walks underneath your bedroom. "Hey there, Legolas." You say, catching his attention. He stops walking and looks up at you, smiling. "Y/N, won't you join us?" He asks. You shake your head. "I would if I didn't have this cold." You say. Your best friend winces. "Goheno nin [I'm sorry]." He apologizes. You smile. "It's okay." You say. "I'll join you guys when I'm better." You say. "Good, then I can get some real competition." Legolas says, grinning. Your mouth slips open and you laugh. "Legolas." You scold lightly. "The other Elves are very good fighters." You say. He laughs. "I know, I'm just kidding." He says. "Legolas!" An Elf calls. Legolas sighs and glances at them. "I'll be right there!" He exclaims. He looks back up to you. "Boe i 'waen [I must go]." He says. You nod. "Galu [Goodbye]. No veren [Enjoy yourself]." You say, smiling. He smiles and walks off. You lean against the wall of your window, watching as Legolas teaches the Elves new archery technique. You stare at Legolas, your eyebrows drawn. He laughs at something an Elf says, his eyes twinkling. You blink a few times, seeing him in a new light. He notices you looking at him and gazes up at you. He grins and waves. You smile and give him a little wave in return. He goes back to teaching the Elves techniques and you back away from the window, your heart pounding. You sniff and sit down in a chair, your mouth slightly open. "How come I've never realized it before?" You breathe. You look out the window once more and then look back to your bedroom wall. "I love Legolas." You whisper.~
You pace your room. "What do I do? What do I do?" You ask yourself, putting a hand to your head. You stop walking and look to your door. "Thranduil." You whisper. You race to your door and rip it open. You run to the throne room. "Y/N, where's the Orc?" Thranduil asks, smiling, a confused look on his face. He gets off of his throne and walks down the stairs gracefully. You take deep breath before continuing. "Thranduil." You start. "Has Legolas...I don't know, ever said anything to you about me?" You ask. "What?" He laughs. You give him a pleading look and he stops laughing. "Y/N, you've been best friends with Legolas since you were both children. He has said a lot of things about you to me." Thranduil states. Your shoulders droop. "Oh." You say. "Why?" He asks. "No reason." You sigh. "Somehow I find that hard to believe." He says. You look at him and sigh again. "Thranduil, tell me if I'm crazy or just plain stupid." You say. His eyebrows draw. "You've practically been a father to me since my own died, so this is one of the reasons why I'm telling you this." You say. You start up a pace and Thranduil watches you. "Should I be worried?" He asks. You shrug. "I've fallen in love with Legolas." You say, stopping and looking at Thranduil. His eyebrows rise and he brightens considerably. "Really?" He asks. You nod. "I don't know what to do." You groan. "Does he like me back or does he like me only as a friend?" You ask. It surprises you when tears fill Thranduil's eyes. He walks over to you and envelops you in a hug. "I'm so happy for you. I've always looked upon you like a daughter and I always thought you'd be a perfect match for Legolas." He says. You hug him back. "But Thranduil, what do I do?" You ask. He pulls away. "You must tell him!" He exclaims. "Really?" You ask, grimacing. He nods. "You must. Or else you'll never know how he feels about you." Thranduil says. You sigh. "Okay." You say quietly. He smiles and puts a hand on your shoulder. He squeezes it. "You can do it." He says. You nod, feeling a little more confident.~
You rest against the ledge of the balcony when Legolas walks in. "Y/N, my ada [Father] said you wanted me?" He questions. You turn slowly, trying to keep your nerves down. "Yes, yes, I do." You reply. He walks over to you and leans his back against the ledge, his forearms on it. He looks at you. "Is this because you think you should be captain of the guard?" He asks. "No." You laugh, shaking your head. "Just the opposite." You say. "You don't want to be on the guard anymore?" He asks seriously. Your eyes widen in horror. "Oh, no, no, no, never." You say, shaking your head vehemently. "Then what is it?" Legolas asks. You stare at him and take a deep breath. As you start to open your mouth he breaks in. "My ada [Father] sounded very serious. I hope it's nothing bad." He says. "It'll be bad for me if this doesn't go the way I hope." You mutter under your breath. "What?" Legolas asks. You swallow before continuing. "Legolas, I was looking at you yesterday and-and something changed within me. I don't see you as just my best friend anymore..." You say. His eyebrows draw. "What are you saying?" He breathes. You put your hand on his. "Legolas, I love you." You state. He blinks and looks away from you in shock. "I thought I was the only one feeling this way." He says. "That you love you too?" You ask jokingly. He looks at you and grins, gently punching your arm. "No." He says. "That I love you." He says, turning to face you. He puts his hands on your shoulders. "A few weeks ago when you were working with the younger Elves, I realized how much I've come to love and adore you. From that moment on I knew I could never be separated from you, and I knew that I didn't want to marry anyone else...but you." Legolas says.~
You smile, your eyes shining with tears. You laugh and wrap your arms around him. "I'm so happy." You say. "Me too." Legolas says, his head resting on your head. "Your ada [Father] is going to be over the moon." You say. Legolas laughs and holds you more tight. "Oh, yes. He's always been fond of you, Y/N. Now having you as a daughter-in-law... I can't wait to see the look on his face." He says. You pull back and smile. "Well, why don't we go tell him?" You say. "Hold on, I have something I need to do first." Legolas says. "What is it?" You ask. He puts his hand on the back of your neck and kisses you passionately.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
