Uta No Prince-sama (Syo x Haruka) "The Aftermath"

This is a one shot.

If you guys don't know what this scene from the show is, it's when Syo gets cast to play in an action movie with his teacher and idol. This was the scene from that episode where Haruka comes and brings Syo's clothes while he's practicing his big jump for the movie.

The story will pick up after Haruka slips, and is dangling from the ledge.

"Syo-kun!" she screamed.

I stood and watched in horror as Nanami dangled from the edge of the platform. If she let go, she would die. The only thing going through my mind was the possibilities of how I could save her. So with a surge of adrenaline I sprinted off my platform and stretched my arms out towards the one opposite of me. I didn't take anytime to register that I was in midair or how high the platform was. I only cared about Haruka's safety.

I was snapped out of my reverie by the impact of my body hitting the platform. Not wasting a second longer, I skidded towards her, and pulled her up. I finally began to let my panic register.

"Nanami!" I shouted.

Taking her hand, I pulled her up slowly towards me to safety. I pulled with all the strength I could muster, and with one last tug I finally brought her on top of the platform. I suddenly pulled her into the circle of my arms, and quietly stroked her hair. Her quiet sobs were the only thing I could focus on, and I didn't let myself think of what could have happened only a moment ago.

Nanami. On the ground. A pile of sadistically twisted limbs on the ground beneath me.

I roughly shuddered at this thought, and hugged her tighter. However, I finally let myself speak.

"Haruka, if you had fallen I....... I........" But I couldn't finish my sentence. The shock still had effect over me, and I couldn't bring myself to say anything else. So we just stayed like that for what seemed like forever.

Finally, however, she spoke up.

"Syo-kun, thank you, I'm so sorry," she said.

"I....I...didn't think I had made it on time," I sobbed.

She pulled her head back so that she could look me in the eye. I could see the red splotches that covered her face, but I only thought she looked for beautiful.

"Shhh...it's okay," she said.

I don't know why she felt the need to comfort me as she was the one that almost fell of the ledge, but I went with it anyway.

"If I had lost you, Nanami, I don't know what I would've done," I said sadly.

"You didn't lose me Syo-kun, I'm right here," she replied trying to sound cheerful.

Of course I could see right though her facade, but I didn't feel the need to bring it up. She was just as torn up about it as I was. The only difference was that she was trying to hide it for my sake. I suddenly felt the need to say something.

"I....I love you," I said quietly.

"Huh?"

"I. Love. You," I said again.

"But.... you... wait," she stuttered.

"I'm sorry that it took me so long to come out and say it. But seeing you hanging from that ledge made me realize it. I. Love. You. I can't live without you, Nanami."

With everything out in the open, I ducked me head, and waited for the rejection. However, I didn't hear anything. I slowly opened my eyes, and looked towards her direction. The look on her face read pure astonishment. Deciding to give her more time to soak everything in, I just sat back and waited for a moment. Finally, she spoke.

"Me too," she said timidly.

"What?"

"I love you too," she replied louder this time.

My head whipped up so fast I thought I had whip lash. But the moment I saw her serious expression, my face split into a grin. Her face resembled the color of a tomato, and she had her bangs overshadowing her face. She looked so.....Nanami.

Maybe-just maybe- this situation was all worth the worry and horror we went through. But if love was always like this, then we were in for a long ride ahead of us. However, I wouldn't have it any other way.
