"Hey, Ernie!" Zoey walked up to the Juice Bar owner and handed a box, "Here's the streamers from the back."

"Thanks." He took the box from the younger girl and smiled down at her companion, "Are you trick or treating tonight?"

"No. Our parents are going to the adult's only party at the Firehouse, so we're stuck at the stupid kid's program at the church." The girls rolled their eyes, "They do nothing but lame carnival games and just give you more candy and plop you in front of the tv to watch the latest family friendly Halloween movie."

"Well, if you're brother's are okay with it, I don't mind you coming here tonight. You've been helping decorate, so you've earned it. You can dance and help me serve snacks. No lame games or movies. What do you say?"

The girls shared a look, "Yes!"

"Go ask your brothers and see if you can get permission from your parents. If they say yes, then I've got two new helpers."

"We'll be right back." They started to go find their brothers, but they stopped when a bucket flew through the air and landed on Bulk, one of the school bullies, "Is that paint?" They winced, trying not to laugh, "I'd feel sorry for him if he didn't act like such a jerk sometimes."

"Right." They giggled, "Come on." They ran of to their brothers as they were huddled together with their friends, "Hey, bro." Zoey wrapped her arms around Tommy's waist and smiled sweetly at him, "Whatcha doin'?"

"Wondering what you want." He looked over to see Jenna doing the same thing to Jason, "What they both want?" Jason was looking down, trying not to smile as their friends were looking back and forth at the siblings, "Is this something that's going to get us into trouble with our parents?"

"Um, I don't think so. I mean, as long as you say it's okay, you know mom and dad would say yes. You're the Golden Boy." She looked at his shirt, "Well, green. Do you ever wear any other color? We've got to get you a new wardrobe."

Jason coughed into his hand, "Jenna," he chuckled, "what's going on?"

"We really don't want to go to that church thing. It's going to be really boring. And since we can't go trick or treating..." She cut her eyes at Zoey.

"...we thought we could stay here." Zoey saw her brother start to say something and beat him to it, "It was Ernie's idea. He said if we could get your okay and the parents permission, we can hang out here. Have some fun, dance and help Ernie with the refreshments."

"I might even give them a little money for helping me out." Ernie said, coming over, "And, so you guys can have your fun, I'll make sure to keep an eye on them. They usually help me out in the afternoons anyways. Cleaning tables and picking up equipment. Why not?"

Tommy cleared his throat, "Are you sure about this?"

"Jenna told me all about this church party. It sounds boring. Besides, you know mom would prefer me to be with you anyways. She's been really picky about all of this since we moved here."

"It's the aliens." Jenna piped up, "Parents have gotten really overprotective since they showed up."

"She says, nonchalantly." Jason shook his head, "Okay. Let me go call mom. I'm sure it won't be a problem."

"I agree." Tommy nodded.

"Yea!" The girls high-fived, "My costume is over at Jenna's. We were going over there after finishing up here and Jason was supposed to take us to the church. So I'll see you when you get back?"

"Behave for Jason."

"No promises." She hooked pinkies with Jenna and the girls skipped back over to the other sides of the room.
