When Steve was born the doctors screamed when they saw him. It wasn't normal for a child to be born with wing. Guess that's what happens when humans fuck around with angels. The doctors were given hush money about it and Steve mostly grew up a normal kid. He hides his wings with a chest strap that holds them Firmly down and his parents Clip them so he doesn't fly. He was popular, sporty and no one bat an eye about him being different, a freak. He hates that people in his school were bullied for being different, not normal to the human eye and liked their own things. But he was so caught up in keeping his image that he let it happen. He never acted on bullying he just stood behind his friends and watched it. But when Eddie Munson joined the school, there was something about him that Steve couldn't place a finger on. He was quiet and snarky when needing to be, alone, and almost looked dead inside.  Steve wanted to talk to him but also didn't want his image to be shattered, so he didn't change.

By the time he got to high school, Eddie had become more of a pest and did his own thing. But when upside down things happened he always got quiet, and a bit more defensive. When things with the demogoregan happened it was the first time he saw Tommy get beat to a pulp. Eddie seemed inhumanly strong for someone who looked like a twig. There were times when Steve thought Eddie might be an Angel but shook the thought away. There was so need to get false hope for not being the only one.  For all Steve knew Eddie had something to do with the upside down but there wasn't any way to actually tell. When Steve graduated, Eddie was held back probably for doing all that skipping and not doing assignments. But Steve couldn't care less about the man. Even though he was tall, had genuinely nice hair and pretty brown doe eyes that were hypnotizing to look into.

"Earth to Steve, we gotta sling ice cream here" his co worker said. Steve sighed and got off the table in the back room and began to take orders from people. It was a boring job he hated but he needed the money. "What's your problem? You seem out of it"

"I'm fine, just- tired" he said adjusting his shirt. He hasn't clipped his wings in a while since his parents had been gone on a business trip. Normally they would cut them before hand but this time they didn't, and he didn't know how to do it himself. So the growth was uncomfortable since he wasn't used to it.

"Tired for the last three days?"

"Yes Robin, I have an outside life other than work"

"So do I and I'm not complaining"

"You asked"

"Blah blah blah" Steve rolled his eyes and walked away "why is there a feather in your shirt?" Robin said grabbing it. Before Steve could protests she pulled it out and he grunted in pain.

"The hell as that for?!"

"What the hell was that reaction?! I was just pulling a feather out of your shirt, how did you not feel it? It's not small" Steve snatched it and looked at the white feather

"Don't worry about it" when Steve's shift ended he headed home and grabbed scissors and took his shirt off along with his wing strap. He looked over his feathers and grabbed one ready to cut it but something told him not to. It was aggravating. He could never bring himself to do it. It felt wrong to cut his wings and he didn't know why.

It didn't take long for Robin to find out. She had her suspicions already but when they were high as balls from the Russians Steve ended up telling her.  That was probably the biggest mistake he had made. The Russians ended up doing tests on him and the torturing got worse, and all Robin can do was beg at them to stop from a distance. When everything finally ended Steve's wings were far too sensitive to actually put his wing strap back on and that's how dustin and Erica found out. The group kept it a secret amongst themselves and no one else found out. It was nice to be able to hang out with Robin and Dustin and not have to wear the strap, considering it kinda made it hard for him to breath to begin with. When Robin and Steve started working at Family Video, Steve told her everything he knew about why he had wings since no one really came to the story unless it was the weekend
