NICK SMILED AT THE PEOPLE WALKING ALONG the sidewalk, watching as the snow gently fell to the ground. he had decided to stop by the small, minimalist, and cozy café that xavier, his boyfriend worked at. he felt like xavier had been overwhelmed and stressed due to the constant extra shifts he had dumped on him, so he decided to stop by, talk to him until he had to close.

however when nick walked into the rather empty building, he didn't expect to see his boyfriend bashfully flirting with a customer, who had seemed rather familiar, whispering as he slid the girl his number. nick felt his throat dry up as he watched the scene unfold, unable to process what he was watching.

"nick?" xavier called out, snapping the boy out of his confused stupor and immediately stepping forward as nick stepped back.

"don't."

"it's not what it looks like, nick."

"oh so you weren't sliding me your number?" the girl smirked, watching smugly as she stepped around the couple, turning back to wink at xavier who sighed exasperatedly.

"what the fuck xavier? i tell you i love you and this is how you repay that?" nick muttered, blinking rapidly as tears welled along his waterline, trying to force them as he watched his soon to be ex boyfriend stumble over his words.

"nick i can explain." xavier pleaded, wanting to somehow rectify the situation, make it seem not as dire as it was, but he knew he had been caught this time. his infidelity finally coming back to bite him in the ass

"there's no explanation that can fix this, xavier. i'm not going to stay with someone who clearly can't be faithful to one person. i'm done. we're done." nick spoke, turning around and heading straight for the door, not letting xavier explain himself, not wanting to hear his many pathetic attempts as trying to justify his actions, he was done.

sighing loudly, nick stubbornly walked a few more blocks, his pride alone fuelling him as he refused to be caught sad and alone standing outside of his ex boyfriend's work, before giving in and texting the group chat.
