Amari was burning with rage as he stared at the audacity that was Penelope. He looked from Aayma to Penelope, unsure who to deal with first. "What did you do?" He asked shaking with anger.
"I'm making sure that the prophecy is fulfilled...correctly." Penelope snarled, smiling smugly. "I knew I was right." She whispered before walking towards the injured feline, who had climbed out of the lake and was now laying underneath a canopy, licking her wounds. Amari stepped in front of her.
"You will not go near him." He said. Penelope shot him an angry look.
"I knew I was right about you. I knew that you weren't the right one. Y – you're not the guide. J – just looking at you...I knew it was impossible..." She whispered madly, trying to side – step Amari, who kept getting out of the way.
"Penny stop!" Aoshanay shouted, running up to them and grabbing Penelope by the arm and tried to pull her away. Penelope swiped at her with her sword.
"Don't touch me...I trusted you!" Penelope shouted at the now shocked Aoshanay. Amari couldn't help but let out a augh. How could she be sitting here talking about trust. Max had waded his way into the lake and stood beside Amari.
"Penelope I – "
"Don't 'Penelope' me." Penelope snarled interrupting Aoshanay. "I asked you to come here with me to finish this. A – and then you go behind my back!"
"Woah, woah, woah." Aoshanay said waving her arms. "You asked me to come with you to find where Max and Amari were! You never said anything about finishing anything! You said you couldn't stand by and not do your part! Y – you never said – "
"AND MY PART IS TO KILL THE MONSTER! TO SNAP YOU PHSYCOS OUT OF WHATEVER TRANCE THIS – THIS THING – " She gestured towards Amari. "HAS GOT YOU ALL IN!"
"T – there's no trance. Penelope please!" Aoshanay pleaded, tears could be seen falling down her face from under her sunglasses.
"Hey! Hey...hey, y – you doing alright?" Amari asked running towards Aayma and falling to his knees and examining where Penelope had stabbed her. I am...alright. Just a minor stab...Hurts though. Amari pushed through the great lumps of fur as her searched for the spot that Penelope had shoved her sword through. He had found an area that was heavy with blood, but no wound.
"I – I don't...see..." He stammered confused. I'll be fine...as long as you are...Amari jumped, Max had joined him, his eyes wondered up and down the creatures' body wildly. "She – she's fine." Amri said. Max nodded and turned around towards the girls who were now shouting.
Amari turned and looked too, Aoshanay was gripping onto Penelope's sword, one hand on the hilt and one hand on the blade, bleeding. "W – we have to stop her...she's doing too much." Amari said. Max nodded, but hesitated. Penelope kicked Aoshanay in the stomach, causing her to fall backwards into the deeper part of the lake.
This time, Max got up and rushed towards the two.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!" Penelope shrieked. Max shook his head. "MOVE MAXWELL!" When he still didn't move, Penelope cursed loudly before raising her sword high above her head.
Amari quickly stood up and rushed forward, pushing Max out of the way just as Penelope's sword fell, slicing off a sizeable chunk of his arm. Amari screamed, holding his arm. He looked down at his now bleeding arm, flashes of the Flameheads appearing in his mind. Of them smiling eerily at him as they cut off piecing of his skin and took swabs of saliva from his mouth. Amari felt himself breathing rapidly, faceplanting into the dirt.
