(A/N: TW: DRINKING AND MENTIONS OF DEATH, if this triggers you please just skip the chapter, I'd rather not endanger my readers. Thank you, and if you're still reading enjoy the angst. :) (don't worry there is more angst to come) )
Virgil was drinking some alcohol, he rarely ever got drunk but he just found out that his adoptive parents died last night. Honestly, there definitely were healthier coping mechanisms but he couldn't think straight right now.
"Hello- what are you doing mortal?" Janus appeared and sat next to Virgil.
"Hey, I'm drinkin' some of that tequila." He slurred. He could be described as a happy drunk most of the time.
"I don't think that's healthy?" They were confused, "Are you alright?"
"Eh, not really. To both questions." he laughed a bit.
"Would you like a .. hug? Is that how it's pronounced?" They were not up to date on human terminology, "I heard that it is a way of sharing comfort and warmth."
Virgil chuckled, "Yeah, a hug would be nice." He put down the bottle and gave Janus a hug. They stayed like that for a while. Then Virgil started to tear up.
"Are you alright? Would you like to talk about it?" Janus asked.
"It's just that, my adoptive parents died and I'm just-" He sobbed, "I miss them, y'know?" As the alcohol started to wear off he became an emotional drunk.
"I personally do not know the feeling, but I feel sympathy for you. I will stay here to comfort you." They were still hugging him.
Eventually, Virgil fell asleep in the god's arms. They took him to their room in the gods' living plane.
