We stand together, I can't help but smile. My feet are aching, and your back is pretty tired. We had set all of our previous griefs aside. I pick up the newspaper placed on the edge of the table. Articles upon articles, all say it's doomsday. This could be the last night we ever see eachother.
I put my suit on, you paint your fingernails. We both get ready, we're going out in style. We both see eachother and you smile. We head to the flower fields, a beautiful place to be in our last moments. We stand there, the dark sky lighting up. I pull your arms into an embrace. You weep and say 'Goodnight, love,' as we lay on the ground. The two of us look up and watch the sky. The bombs drop. Here it is our final night alive, and as the Earth burns to the ground, I hold your hand. We both turn our heads to look at eachother. The hissing sound got closer, it got hotter. The last thing I ever saw were your eyes.
