"Yes, you have a sister now." Eva's father, Eddie spoke to her.

They were both standing in Eva's bedroom, she was absolutely flabbergasted. She paced back and fourth only huffing and crossing her arms.

"So you adopted someone? You know how irresponsible that is! We live in a shitty apartment, I'm the only value income that's coming in, you're constantly in a depressive state, and you think it was a wonderful idea was to bring someone INTO this!?" Eva spoke aloud, still angrily pacing around her bedroom.

"But, like how did they even allow you to adopt someone without a stable living arrangement." She last pointed out as Eddie simply ran a hand down his face.

"Look, I don't need my own daughter telling me what I can and can not do."

Eva paused for a bit, before shaking her head. "I wasn't telling you what you should or shouldn't do. I just think you shouldn't have done something when you know you haven't gotten better."

She sighs and looks at him sympathetically for a moment as he hangs his head but before she cleared her throat and clapping her hands togeather.

"Well, we can't change what's already been done, so let me meet this new sister of mine." She happily said strutting out of her room, with her father not too far behind.

There in the living room, she saw the individual. She stood anxiously by the couch looking around, rubbing her hands togeather as she did.

"Sorry for that weird scene that happened a couple of minutes ago, heh, my name's Eva. But you probably know that already don't you?" Eva smiled at the brunette in front of her, holding her hand out.

She smiled in returning, shaking her hand.

"Yeah, I'm Katie."

Eva could tell how she was feeling a bit nervous, the slight shake of her hands as they shook gave her the initiative.

"So, we got left over Chinese food, want some? You can tell me all about yourself as we eat."

"Okay." Katie smiled as Eva went and grabbed the left over food from the fridge and dragged Katie to the couch.

"Well, you two ladies go and catch up, I'll be heading out."

"Okay, have fun!" Eva waved him off and returned to the conversation.

Eddie only chuckled slightly at the two before closing the door behind him.

"So how old are you? Hold on, let me guess, you are..... 16." Eva started off.

Katie chuckled a bit, takeing a bite of her food.

"No, but close, I'm 17."

Eva only nodded looking away then looked back at her.

"17, wow, you're only 2 years older than me, and they still let you still be adopted even if you're a year from 18. That's just wow!"

And like that the rest of the day went by as quickly as it came. Eva stayed up past 2 in the morning chatting away with her newfound sibling learning everything she could.

The both ended up sleeping in the living room as Eva put it to having a 'sleep over' togeather.

The next morning Eva woke up with a very sore back as she stretched up from her sitting position the floor. She saw Katie was already up sitting right up on the couch with the blanket drapped over her legs.

"Good mornin, slept well Katie?" Eva asked rubbing her eyes.

"Sure did." She nodded her head in response.

And just as soon as Katie responded, Eddie came bursting in the room, looking all panicked and obviously sick.

"Jeesh dad, you look like shit! What did you do all night?" Eva commented standing up from the floor scratching her head.

He didn't respond to the teen instead he frantically grabbing things in the kitchen, as he was talking to whoever on the phone.

She was even more confused watching his frantic movements, going from grabbing a beer, then chugging water and just crazily eating frozen tater tots.

"Um, dad you okay? You're freaking me out." Eva asked again walking up to him cautiously.

Katie stood up from the couch watching this go down, but she doesn't seemed alarmed, almost sympathetic look took over her features.

"Yeah, I'm fine-" he waved her off before tossing the tots aside.

"You don't look fine, you look sick, and- OH my gosh that is disgusting!!" Eva cried out, turning away.

She shook her head as she heard the bathroom door slam shut.

"I can't believe that man somtimes." Eva heaved, trying not puke herself after watching her father eat straught out of the trash can.

"I'm sure it's fine. Its not unnormal." Katie shrugged at her.

Eva only looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Not unnormal?! When was eating food out of the trash can consider not unnormal? I mean yeah I've a few things my dad done in his druken depressed state but THIS is not one of them, at least I hope not." Eva frowned at Katie as she walked into the kitchen unit, cleaning the ripped open tater tot bag and throwing it in the trash along with a few that layed about on the hard wood floor.

"I'm just saying, this kind of "sickness" I've seen before, some have it differently, he just has to learn how to handle it." Katie mentioned walking over to the dark brunette as she looked at her conspicuously at her.

"Why did you air quote "sickness", and besided what on gods green earth are you even saying?! Don't tell me you're mentally insane?" Eva faked gasped, causing Katie to shake her head.

"No, I've been told I was crazy but not insane."

Eva furrowed her eyebrows togeather. "You better be just crazy cause I-"

But before she could finish her sentence she heard a small yelp coming from the bathroom.

"Okay, somethings up." Eva quickly stated rushing to the bathroom to see her father passed out in the bathtub, with a shower curtain broken over him.

"Oh dad! You definitely are NOT okay." Eva stated walking towards the dazed man.

He slowly opened his eyes, looking up at Eva, as she help him stand up from the tub as Eva still held onto his arm. He only groaned out while walking out of the bathroom. His eyes scanned the still bit messy place.

"Dad-"

"I'm fine, I said I was fine, so I am fine." Eddie quietly responded walking towards the island in the kitchen grabbing his phone.

"I really do hope you are." Eva sighed sadly leaning on the other side of the island.

"I am." He nodded his head a couple times muttering a few 'I am okay' under his breath as he walked to the apartment door.

"Where are you going?" Eva and Katie asked at the same time.

"I-I have somewhere to be, I'll see you girls later."

And that was the last thing Eddie said to his two daughters before sauntering out, closing the door behind him.

Eva simply sighed dryly for the umpteenth time, "Welcome to the Brock Family." She sarcastically commented doing jazz hands, earning a chuckle from Katie.
