Warning: child abuse, child neglect, religious trauma

SCP-6027, real name Joan, is an antagonist within the SCP universe. She was a high priestess who was the biological aunt to Dr. Lavender who she horribly abused both mentally and physically for several years, she had raised the child like a 'lamb for slaughter' and eventually died from a stab wound caused by Dr. Lavender.

She is the main antagonist of Dr. Lavenders story and is usually seen as a 'haunting' figure in her life even though she is deceased.

Biography

Joan was the youngest daughter to high priest 'Walter' born around the 1500s. She had grown up within the cult mentally abused the same way as many other children were, due to this abuse she had grown a horrible obsession towards the cult and severing the cult. While she grew up, she would watch her elder brother eventually fall in love and have a child with another member known as 'Alice'. She would be tasked by her father to kill her elder brother and his wife only a day after their child was born orphaning her, Joan would then be given the child to raise.

After the deaths of Henry and Alice she had become Eliza's caregiver, treating her the same way the cult had treated her. She had neglected the child through her childhood and abused her on a physical and mental level. She would manipulate Eliza into only trusting Laveshnu, constantly berate, insult and mock her over her physical appearance, emotions and distrust towards the cult, she also constantly cut her hair refusing to let Eliza grow out her own hair as 'it didn't belong to her'. She began to manipulate Eliza into thinking that she should be glad to live within the cult, at times she would also physically harm her. She would also leave Eliza in her room in utter darkness and refuse to feed her when she spoke rudely about Laveshnu or the cult. Because Eliza was raised in this environment and could not seek help, she was unable to properly recognize the abuse she was enduring and simply thought that this was normal behavior from a 'loving' family.

On Eliza's 20th birthday Joan had informed her that the pain and torment she had gone through was simply a 'test'. She had manipulated Eliza into thinking she was receiving the title of 'high priest', and she would now be a highly respected member within the cult. During a dinner the members all celebrated Eliza's newfound role within the cult, unbeknownst to few of the members they had all been selected for a 'ritual' shortly through the dinner they were all knocked unconscious. After the five members were knocked out, they had been taken to a ritual like room and the ritual had been performed, though Eliza had woken up halfway through and tried to leave. Many of the cult members had tried to stop her but this had only caused the death of high priest 'Walter' and Eliza successfully leaving.

The result of this ritual had led Joan to become the new high priestess, she had ordered some of her members to find Eliza, but all searches ended up hopeless. They eventually relied on the hope a new prophecy child would be reborn, but Joan had grown the idea within her head that Eliza was now Laveshnu and would one day return. During Eliza's time away from the cult Joan had eventually married and had her own son named 'Henry' after his uncle.

Shortly after her granddaughter's birth (SCP-9898) while she was now an elder. Eliza had returned to the cult claiming to be the goddess Laveshnu, Joan had been the one to see her as she had been standing outside the cave basking in the sunset. Joan had immediately began calling Eliza 'Laveshnu' and the girl went along with it, until the woman hugged her. Eliza had stabbed through her with what is now known as 'SCP 6027-I' the eye sword. She then went into the cave and slaughtered all other members.

During the Foundation's search of the cave, a journal titled 'Joan's journal' would be recovered. Inside the journal were different members names, her admitting to her brother's death and her account of the ritual. The journal has been classed under SCP 6027 and is now referred to as an instant of SCP 6027-M 'the books'.

Appearance

Joan is described as a woman near 5'7, usually she is described to have a strong nose, black 'doe' like eyes and a 'sickening' smile. She is also described with long black hair and Rosey skin, she looked to be in her early 30s from Dr. Lavender's memory. While Dr. Lavender was under her abuse she would describe the woman as a 'faceless being' who sometimes seemed to have multiple eyes up her arms. Dr. Lavender refers to her looks as 'painful'.

Personality

Joan during her childhood was described as a quiet girl suffering from the abuse of the cult, though as she grew older, she became obsessed with the cult and wishing to please it. Causing her to do horrendous acts and treat many members coldly. Things became worse after she murdered her brother after his attempt of leaving the cult, she had taken her niece into her care becoming abusive and neglectful towards the child. As a result, from the cults abuse towards her she had become a 'horribly twisted cruel and sadistic monster' who didn't seem to care for anyone or anything around her, only wishing to bring Laveshnu back and make the cult proud. Overtime she became more and more abusive/neglectful towards Eliza, seeing her as less than a human being only useful in becoming 'Laveshnu's' new host, constantly manipulating her and constantly putting her in a depressive state, telling her that she had been the cause of her parents' deaths and even locking her within her room without food or water for days. Even after the ritual involving Eliza, watching as the cult began to fall apart, she didn't seem to regret much about the cruelty she caused Eliza or any other member. It is unknown if Joan cared about Eliza at any point along with her own brother since she had abused Henry the same as she abused Eliza.
