An Unimaginable Encounter

 So let's begin this story of Shi Wulin with the awakening of his spirit and the incredible encounter that would shape his destiny

In the world of soul land there's all kinds of people from your lowly peasant to your rulers of kingdoms, but the ones who stand above the rest are spirit masters. Those who cultivate their martial spirit to gain power, and today is the day that the spirits of the village children will be awakened. In front of the spirit awakening hall of the quaint Xiaolin Village was a group of children waiting for the spirit master to arrive to awaken their martial spirits. Among them, one boy could hardly stand still from his excitement and that boy was Shi Wulin.

"Hopefully I haven't kept you all waiting too long," a voice says. All the kids looked where the voice was coming from to see a brown haired man in a white robe standing on the roof of the awakening hall. "My name is Dai Lin and I'll be awakening your spirits today," he explains as he jumps off the roof and lands gently on the ground below. The man throws his hand back and the doors swing open and he gestures inside "Let's get this show on the road." Once all six children walk through the door it closes behind them and the spirit master has the children line up side by side. He gets on the little stage in the back of the room "now let me fully introduce myself," suddenly a white ring and gold ring appear around him and he gains fur and armor-like muscle on his body "My name is Dai Lin and I'm a level 26 Great spirit master and my spirit is the iron-armored ape and as you know I'm here today to help the six of you awaken your spirits and test if you have spirit power to be a spirit master." He has the children step forward one by one to awaken their spirits then test for spirit power and of the first 5 children two had spirit power one of level 3 and one of level 5. Shi Wulin stepped forward visibly excited and stood in the circle of stones and started to focus on his hand to bring out his spirit and within a few seconds a small green magatama appeared in his hand. Dai looked at the item in his hand shocked.

"What's wrong?" Shi Wulin asked hesitantly.

"Nothings wrong, I've just never heard of a magatama as a spirit before so come place your hand on the crystal ball to test for spirit power" Shi Wulin gently places his hand and waits for a reaction but nothing happens. "Sorry doesn't look like you have spirit power" With those eight words alone Shi felt his whole world collapse around him. With that Dai walks the children out and returns them to their parents then leaves to give the news to the village chief. Shi returns home with his parents, goes into his rooms and refuses to leave for days. His parents can barely get him to eat or respond to anything they say. This goes on for 2 -3 weeks before his parents walk into his room to find him not in it and a note on his desk. Dear mom and dad, if you're reading this I ran away to the Star Dou Forest to find a way to become a spirit master and I'm not gonna come back until I find a way or die trying. Your son, Shi Wulin. His parents run outside to look for him but by that point he's long gone.

"Oh god! Oh god!" Shi Wulin shouts as he runs for his life from a large black wolf that shoots wind blades from its mouth. He jumps into a hollow tree trunk to hide as the large wolf gets attacked by a crocodile-like creature and dragged back to its den to be eaten. Shi pokes his head out to see the creatures are gone which for him is great as it starts to become night time so he decides to sleep in the tree and travel more in the morning. After waking up in the morning before moving forward, Shi decided to make himself a spear with a stick from the tree he was hiding in, a sharp rock off the ground and some leaves to tie them together. Now with a spear in hand he starts heading away from his tree. As he runs deeper into the forest he gets attacked by swarms of 10 yr spirit beasts and does everything he can to fend them off. "Woah" Shi shouts as he falls on his back holding off a 100 yr radish spirit. He swings the spear to the side to send the radish away and scrambles up to his feet. He starts running at the radish and just as he's about to stab it a massive creature lunges at it and grabs it and eats it. Shi gets a good look at the beast when it stops moving its a 3 meter long vine like snake he backs away very slowly hoping it won't notice him. He steps back and trips over a vine and hits his back against a tree which causes the huge snake to notice him. He struggles to get up and jumps out of the way right as it lunges at him to swallow him whole. He starts running away dodging the snake every time it lunges at him. Right as Shi Wulin thinks he's going to escape the snake he trips and rolls down a hill into a cave. Knowing at this point the snake is gonna to attack him he closes his eyes and waits for it to lunge at him. After a couple seconds nothing happens so he opens his eyes to see the snake back up seemingly in fear before turning around and slithering away. He finds this strange so he decides to head deeper into the cave assuming it's safer in the cave then going back out into the forest for the serpent to attack him. After traveling through the various sprawling tunnels of the cave he comes upon a room with lit torches in it and in the center of the room is a pedestal with a nest atop it. The nest seems to contain a black egg, blue egg, red egg, white egg and yellow egg he decides to approach the when he hears a voice boom throughout the cave "Interesting a boy containing the Heavenly Magatama spirit and multiple spirit beast bloodlines with him speak your name boy"

"My name is Shi Wulin. Now who and where are you? " he says as he takes a few steps back, his spear out in front of him while he looks around.

The voice responds " I'm the remaining spirit of the previous Azure Dragon who stayed behind to guide whoever showed up at this cave with the Heavenly Magatama spirit and any bloodline connected to one of the eggs"

"You keep talking about this heavenly magatama spirit but my spirit is just a regular magatama, it's a junk spirit without any spirit power to speak of" Shi Wulin says defeated.

The Dragon responds " There is only one magatama spirit, the heavenly magatama spirit which while it does not contain spirit power it has the ability to take in spirit beasts the user has a shared bloodline with but only one creature per bloodline and only while it's still in the sealed magatama state and you share a bloodline with each of the eggs in the nest, so should you desire the five beasts can become your spirits once they hatch."

"Wait, you're saying I have to wait for them to hatch for them to become my spirit. How long will that take?" Shi Wulin responded in shock.

"Once I finish imparting all the knowledge necessary upon you my spirit will dissipate and the eggs will hatch but before they do you must put a drop of blood on each egg to create a bond with the bloodline." the dragon replies calmly. Upon hearing this Shi Wulin walks up to the nest, slices his hand with his spear and drips blood on each egg watching as the egg seemingly absorbs the blood and glows slightly before returning to normal.

"What else do I need to know about this bond?" Shi Wulin asks excitedly but trying to keep his composure.

"You will not acquire rings like a normal spirit master there will have barriers every 10 levels you will need to gather items and consume them together to acquire your spirit rings, I will implant the list into your spiritual sea where the spirits will remain the first ring will require you to drink a mix of blood from a 100 yr thunder serpent, a 100 yr golden-eyed leopard, a 100 yr 9-element stag, a100 yr goliath turtle and a 100 yr rainbow hawk after you take in the spirit beasts and as you get stronger the beasts will mature but when they first enter your spiritual sea they will need to time adjust to your spirit power so don't activate your spirit essence and rest in the cave for a few days so they can acclimate to there new home you'll know when they're done also before you leave in the room behind this there's a weapon that might be helpful on your journey you can create a bond with it the same way as the beast." As soon as the dragon finishes saying this his voice disappears and Shi Wulin watches as the eggs begin to shake and cracks appear on them. From the eggs a small blue dragon looking creature, a white tiger like kitten, a black tortoise with a snake tail, a phoenix like bird and a scaled deer come crawling out and walk up to Shi Wulin and disappear as he feels them enter his spiritual sea. He feels significantly lighter and stronger as his body fills with spiritual power. Over excited he jumps around with joy for a few minutes. He decides to go to the other room to see what weapon the dragon spoke of. He finds a black walking stick seemingly made of metal he looks at it slightly disappointed and confused but he drops some blood on it and watches as it glows for a second but when he picks it up it feels like an extension of his body. He finds food in the cave and decides after all that he's been through to eat something then get some rest till his new spirits show him they're ready to go.
