I hadn't long to process that she had gone, as my boss had opened his door to check on me once again. I remained looking out of the window, and saw her leave the building, and walk out onto the street. I ran to get her, but my boss had come to the end of my desk with a fresh stack of printed documents for me to work on. I could just see his spite imprinted on his face, as I looked down at the stack of 200 documents that lay before me. He thumped them onto the desk once again, and I felt like time had spun back on itself, exactly to where I was a few hours ago. I sat on my desk defeated, it was obvious. I had no chance. I had to remain in this job, to protect my work... I had to keep warm, and buy food, and I had to follow my dream... this is what it was for, and I had to keep it. There was no time to think of logic, only time to run. I turned around as I crossed the street, questioning where she had gone. There were people walking by, but not her. Her with the ruby lips. I caught my breath, as disappointment dawned on me like a dark cloud. She was nowhere to be seen. I had missed my chance. I put my hands in my hair, and scrunched it into my knuckles. How could this have happened? I looked at the post box, and resting on it, lay the paper airplane... her paper airplane. I slouched, and was so drained from all of my efforts being cast into the wind. All, except one. Hers. What had been my last chance, here staring me in the face. I swiped across the mailbox, and threw the airplane as far as I could. For it to be taken into the wind, and set free. I had no use for it any longer. I lost all interest and grouchily walked across the street. I was out of a job, and had lost the girl of my dreams...
