Chapter 20

Josies POV: I told my father everything. Hopes and I becoming friends, the stalker, the kidnapping...

Let's just say he did not take it well. Like any father should. The only thing he was happy about was the beginning of my summer. "Sweet girl can you take your friends and your stuff and come home please?" He asked. My mouth dropped. Like he would need to ask. Of course I want to come home after that.

"Of course dad. It is late though so we will leave early in the morning," I nodded even hough he can't see me. I looked at Hope who was sitting down on the couch. He leg was bouncing and she was chewing at her finger nails.

I walked over as my dad was talking and I sat down next to her. I mouthed 'Are you ok,' and she nodded, grabbing my hand. I looked at Lizzie and she knew that I wanted to go to bed.

She took the phone from me and told dad "we are going to bed now dad see you later. I love you,"

Then we all shouted bye into the phone going into our rooms. When I walked in I saw everything was the same except for the walls. It had sticky notes of where I could have been. Also my favorite things. Why I don't know?

I walked over to the post it notes to take a better look at them when Hope spoke up. "Hey I don't know if you saw the ones of your favorite things but I have them there so I know what to get you when you come back," she leaned down and picked up a basket.

It had many things like: a purple blanket, chips ahoy, pictures of her and myself together of this summer, a stuffed panda, and yellow Laffy taffy. But there was something that caught my eye right away. A pendant. I picked it up and she told me "it's to make quite things heard,"

It's a talisman and it's a beautiful clean silver. I asked her to help me and I turned around holding up my hair. I felt her warm hands on my neck and I took a shaky breath. "I'm sorry am I making you uncomfortable?" She asked sweetly.

"No your fine it's just-" I talked as she clipped the necklace then turned around to finish my sentence. But I couldn't without my eyes watering. She took my hand and walked me over to bed.

She laid me down and wiped the tears off my face. "You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to," she smiled sadly and tucked me into bed. She took some of her pj's and changed.

When she laid down it took me a minute  before I finished "when you did that it reminded me of when my kidnappers touched my neck," I said slowly looking at the ceiling.

I felt her sigh then soft lips on my cheek. "I'm sorry- oh shit I'm sorry I kissed you. That was probably a trigger," she gasped sitting up.

I giggled "it's okay. It is a trigger but when you do it... it's different," I finished pulling her back down.

"How so?" She asked turning on her side  to face me.

"Your so sweet and you protect me. So when you touch me or kiss me," I giggled at the last part "I feel good and safe,"

She nodded and laid her head on my shoulder. "Is this okay?" She asked tiredly. I nodded and after a minute or two I wispered in her ear.

"Goodnight Hope," I listened to her soft breathing until I drifted off to sleep as well.

4:45 AM

Hopes POV: "Stop don't touch me!" Josie yelled pushed and kicking me off of her. She still had her eyes closed.

"Jo-Josie it's okay. Your safe," I shook her awake. Her eyes bolted open and she started to shake. I calmed her holding her as she fell asleep again. But again, she woke up screaming. She wouldn't let me sleep next to her.

"No go no please," she sobbed. I got out of the bed and laid on the couch. Without saying anything else she fell asleep as fast a running cheetah.

I didn't mind sleeping on the couch. I understand why. I just wish I knew what went on on her mind. I let a tear fall that night. Then another. Next it all just went going.

7:00 AM

"Wake up guys," Mg shook me.

"Wait why are you two not sleeping together?" Lizzie asked looking at both of us. Then Josie looked at me confused. Oh God.
