• • •Daenemera fiddled with her fingers as Cecelia put on the final piece of her red wedding dress. No one had ever heard of a wedding dress being red. She asked her father's permission before she had the dress made. He knew it was her way of representing her house, it always was. Her mother didn't agree with her choice, but she didn't say a word about it. She was thankful enough to have her daughter marry from their house to stay at her mother's side. The requests didn't stop there. She asked her father to send out invitations to Rhaenyra and her family. She wanted her sister to be there. She had hoped that they could finally put away the past and come together as one. Her father loved the idea and requested Otto to add their names to the list. Cecelia noticed her friend's nervousness as she wrapped her arms around her. Daenemera accepted the hug and grabbed a hold of her hands.
"You shouldn't worry so much, Daenemera."
"What if they don't come? I want all my family to be there."
"Your father already asked the Hand to have it sent out. I'm sure they will come." She assured her friend who fought the tears in her eyes.
"I hope so." She mumbled in a hushed voice. Cecelia placed a veil over her head, her face spoke of how proud and happy she was for her friend.
"I can't believe this day has finally come. I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to rub it into the servants' faces. They will be so petrified now that I have you and your husband to side by me." Daenemera tilted her head.
"It's almost like you'll abuse your power." Cecelia gasped in shock,
Cecelia held the back of the dress with other servants. The knight was prepared to open the door, but Daenemera held her hand up so she could have a moment to calm herself. They nodded and waited for the princess. She inhaled a breath of air and gripped her bouquet.
"Okay, let us begin."
The knight opened the door for the princess and announced her name. Many lords and their families stood up behind their assigned tables. Her eyes scanned the room and focused on looking for her sister as she continued to walk slowly down the aisle. She was met with grave disappointment when a table that was meant for Rhaenyra and her nephews to sit at was empty. She held in her tears and kept her eyes forward. An officiant stood in front of the groom who had a large smile on his face. She remembered that smile the day he rode Vhagar for the first time. Alicent, Otto, and Viserys stood by the side of where the bride would soon stand and Helaena and Aegon stood next to Aemond's side. Her grandfather and parents held pleasing looks on their faces. Helaena held her hands together in joy for her sister while her brother-husband sighed. He would have rather been in some pleasure house about now rather than see his sister's marriage it seems. Aemond took in the view of his gorgeous sister. Both the bride and groom's hearts were beating quickly. Daenemera wasn't sure why she was so nervous. This was only a wedding, most people would be worried about the wedding night, but since the couple already had theirs, it would not compare to this moment. Daenemera stood in front of Aemond, the servants released the bride's dress and walked off to the side. Soon the Septon spoke,
"Let it be known that Daenemera Targaryen Aemond Targaryen, House of Targaryen, are one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he who would seek to tear them asunder. In the sight of the Seven, I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity. Look upon one another and say the words." The Septon took a ribbon and tied it around the hands of Daenemera and Aemond.
"I am hers and she is mine. From this day, until the end of my days." Aemond spoke.
"I am his and he is mine. From this day, until the end of my days." Aemond stared into her eyes lovingly as he continued.
