Happy 18th Birthday,
I would have loved to say it to you in person. However, I'm fully aware that may turn out unpleasantly. I apologize for being so formal with a letter, but I'd rather have the chance then no chance at all.
For it being your birthday, you seemed very sad.
Was it because no one realized until you mentioned it?
Or was it because you didn't receive a letter from me soon enough. I slip them under your door so that it is immediate for you to read them. But unfortunately today was quite difficult with the amount of visitors you had.
It wouldn't be much of a surprise if someone saw me don't you think?
