Chapter 14 : jack-in-the-box
'' With some random dude,'' he continued with an overtone of anger whilst his teeth gritting. '' Hugging him.''
A guy who wore a leather black jacket with a dull blue jeans stood up from his motorbike. With a few movements from his finger, he unclasped his helmet before removing it from his head, revealing a soft, navy blue bandanna which fully wraps his entire head. I must admit, the bandanna really makes him look fiercer, cooler, sterner, et cetra.
He then held onto his helmet with another hand of his, wiping the raindrops that were streaming down his nose. A stern, faint smirk was plastered with him whilst him staring on the ground.
He sauntered his way to my direction whilst the raindrops were rushing down through his jacket and down his jeans, drenching them, making the soak shirt to come into contact with his skin, contracting his clothings. Upon him seeing the Masked Guy, his face became deadpan like a stone.
Both the Masked Man and I was by then standing side by side, gazing upon the way Rio walks and his outfits. He looked way too neutral with those outfit that he was wearing.
He came to a stop when we both were just an arm apart. With seriousness from his voice, he asked, '' What are you doing in the rain with this dude?''
'' Erm, '' I tried to explained to him but my tongue got tied up and my larynx got choked up.
Rio then averted his gaze to the Masked Guy before saying, '' And who are you? Little, wimpy punk?'' He pushed the Masked Guy on the shoulder, making the Masked Guy to jerk backward a bit.
The Rio that I had used to admire so much, was not the same guy that I knew a few months ago when he just first entered my Avarchne High. The silly, humble, good boy look was now gone, replaced by a neutral look. He looked so completely blank except for his eyes which had the same intensity as it used to be like before. Only that the intensity has became cold, stern and dull like a rock. I wished I hadn't looked into his eyes.
'' Hey, watch who you are pushing, freak,'' the Masked Guy regained his balance before wiping the area where Rio had pushed him just now. The Masked Guy then pushes Rio, making Rio to jerk backward a few steps.
Rayven. Rayven wouldn't have call anyone a freak. Rayven wouldn't insult anyone despite of their weakness areas. Being the gentlemen that he is, he would always respect anyone. But this Masked Guy, he had just called Rio a freak. And also pushed Rio.
I looked straight into Rio blue eyes which never fails to get my breathing hitched every single time. Rio's eyes were fixated on the Masked Guy, not moving a bit. I continued staring into his blue eyes, thinking that somehow by looking into it, I can feel his current mood or at least read what he was currently is thinking about.
Suddenly, his kitten blue eyes moves to look into my eyes. It was like a lightning that struck my heart immediately. That was how strong the impact was when he averted his gaze from the Masked Guy to my eyes. The same faint, stern smirk that he had a few minutes ago, appeared as I continue staring into his eyes.
A flash of mesmerizing images started blocking my sight as I continued staring into Rio's blue eyes.
A guy with a huge gigantic spectacles that was pulling down his looks and charms were standing right before my eyes with those huge grins that scratched from one side of his eyes to another which eventually turns into a soft, genuine smile. The images were not as blur as it was the first time I had it which was in the hospital. His features were slowly sharpening which got me realizing that he had a sharp nose shape.
