I leaned against the railing with a cigarette in between my teeth. I inhaled the smoke, inhaling it deep into my lungs. I removed my hand out of my jacket pocket and took the cigarette out from my mouth. I blew out the smoke lightly.
"Dylan, you coming," Charlie hollered from his car.
"Nah, man, I'm staying here, maybe steal some alcohol from that Seven Eleven down the road," I called.
"You sure? We're going to meet some babes, Cara will be there."
I shrugged. "I'll think about, where are you guys going?"
"Ashley's house."
"I can't come then," I said.
"Dude, if you want to hook up with Ashley, I'll cover for you with Cara," he said.
"Will there be alcohol?"
"I already got a couple six packs in the car," he answers.
"Alright," I say, getting into the back seat.
Charlie drove and talked with Ethan, who say in the passenger's seat. Ethan glared at me in the side mirror. He wasn't favorable of me especially after I played with his sister's heart, though even before that he still had a deep hatred for me. I didn't care though, I tend not to care about anyone or anything.
I smoked my cigarette and when it was gone I threw it out the window, not caring where it landed. We arrived at Ashley's a bit later.
She came out to greet us, her dyed red hair pulled back in a ponytail. Her faced was caked in makeup, making her look like she belonged in a circus.
"Hey Charlie, hi Ethan," she greeted them both with welcoming smiles, bluntly ignoring me.
I smirked. "Aren't we a bit too old for playing hard to get, Ash," I asked, capturing her in a bear hug and pressing my hands against her stomach. I baried my face in her neck, getting ready to suck on her skin and make her moan.
Ashley grabbed both of my hands and removed them from her stomach. She held onto them as she dropped her hands to her sides. "You're girlfriend is here," she said in disgust over her shoulder before storming off.
I watched as she walked back into her house, her hips swaying fiercely. She was intriguing and extremely good in the other departments as well, she never failed to surprise me, I guess that's why I always keep coming back to her.
Charlie laugh when she slammed the door shut. He slapped me on the shoulder. "I told you that you shouldn't have gotten involved with Cara, it'd only mess shit up."
"It isn't messing anything up, she'll come back she always does. Besides Cara is fun and exciting," I said, remembering last time she came over and spent the night.
"You know what I don't get, is why the fuck you try so hard to get into a girls pants, I mean why not just stick with Ashley, she's so easy."
"You know why Charlie. As much as, Ash is fun to fuck, she's just too easy, I prefer a chase."
"I get it, bro," he said. "You thinking about getting some?"
"Not tonight."
"That's a first," Ethan snorted.
I ignored him, deciding I didn't want to get into another fight with him at least not tonight. The day, so far was already horrible just like it is every year.
I walked inside and followed Cara's voice into kitchen. She was leaning against the counter, her light brown hair pulled back into a messy bun. She was so damn beautiful. Cara was wearing a pair of booty shorts and a plain, tight, red tank top. She had on a pair of black studded heels, they were her favorites.
I wrapped my hairs around her waist and kissed her jaw. "Hi baby," I said, grinning.
Cara giggled. "Hey D," she said, looking over at me the best she could.
I noticed Ashley standing on the other side of the counter, pressing her lips together. I wouldn't let anyone else call me nicknames except Cara, she was the exception. She was the exception to every rule I had ever made, the first being never to get attached to someone. Maybe that was why I still never told Ashley that things were over between us, I was still afraid of getting attached. I focused my attention back to Cara and met her caramel eyes, she was beautiful and amazing in every way. I walked to the bathroom or started to.
Ashley cornered me in the hallway. "Hi D," she said, rubbing her hands up and down my chest.
I gulped. I knew the best thing to do would have been to pushed her away, but I didn't. I grabbed her waist, and pushed her against my chest, pressing my lips against hers. I tugged on her bottom lip, making her moan. I slid my hands down on her butt.
When I opened my eyes I saw Cara standing there watching us, her eyes filled with hurt. I stared at her as I kissed Ashley, not bothering to pull away. I heard her soft sobs as she walked away and made her way to her car. I don't know why I didn't follow, I guess it was because part of me knew that if she saw we would be done and that same part of me just didn't care.
