After the funeral, me and the four girls sat at the apple rose grill catching up with each other. "So why was Jenna there?" Aria asks. "I guess she's back." Spencer says. "That cop acted like we were suspects or something." Hanna said. "Well, the friends of the victim are usually the first to be accused." I explain. "But, do you think we looked guilty?" Emily questions. "Why would we? We haven't done anything wrong." Aria says. "Except lie about the Jenna thing." Hanna reminds us. "We promised that we would never bring up the Jenna thing again, remember?" Spencer questions, "It never happened." "Have you found a way to forget? I still wake up sometimes in the middle of the night..." Aria tells us. "Aria, it was an accident." Spencer interrupts. Hanna pours some alcohol into her glass from her flask. She then looks over to this older man who is giving her a disapproving look. "It's medicinal." she tells him giving him a sarcastic smile. Her nods slightly but still looks unconvinced. "Cramps." She clarifies. Spencer peers over her shoulder and looks at the man. "I don't get it. How does 'A' know something about me that only Alison knew?" Emily asks, returning to our conversation. "Ali knew all our secrets, but... we never knew any of hers." Aria explains. "The whole thing about secrets keeping us close just applied to us I guess." I said. "I knew some of Ali secrets." Spencer blurts out. "Go on." Aria encourages. "Talk." Hanna adds. "I can't." Spencer says. "Spence! No, you are not just going to drop a bomb like that and just clam up!" Aria said to her. "She'd so kill me if I told you." Spencer tells us. "What's she going to do now." I say. "She's dead." Hanna continues. We all patiently wait for Spencer to speak. "Ali was seeing someone that summer." Spencer spills. "I knew she was keeping something from me... from us." Emily said then corrected herself. "Well why didn't she want us to know?" Aria questions. "We all know Ali liked her secrets." I said. "Yes, but also he was an older guy and he had a girlfriend." Spencer says. "Who was it?" Emily questions. "She never told me his name." Spencer explains. "That's only half a secret." Hanna complains. "Well, it's more than you ever got from her." Spencer snaps. "How was it that Ali told us nothing, and we told her everything." Aria asks. "Because she made us feel like we were a part of something special." Emily explains. "We were." Hanna assures. "Yeah, if it wasn't for Ali forming the group we would have never met and made all of those amazing memories." I said. " I miss that." Aria says. "Me too." Spencer agrees. "I miss Ali." Emily tells us whilst she fiddles with her bracelet around her wrist. "I can't believe you still wear that." Hanna says shocked. The bracelet was a purple friendship bracelet with 'Emily' written in white on it. We all had one with our own names on them. They were gifts, from Ali. "Ali still wears hers. Wore." Emily tells us. "When Ali didn't come home that night, I knew something terrible must of happened, but there was always some part of me that just imagined someday she'd just show up." Spencer says. "Yeah, Ali wasn't the type of person to just leave her family and friends behind." I comment. "I used to think that maybe she'd just... run off with some guy." Aria said. "She was just laying on a beach somewhere." Emily continues. "Or getting a tan out by the pool with that hot lifeguard." Hanna adds. "Omg, that lifeguard. I swear we all had a crush on him." I laughed. "What was his name?" Aria asks. "Who cares. 'Save me!'" Hanna puts on a posh voice. We all laugh softly. Just then we hear the door open and a loud tapping noise. We look towards the door and Jenna has just came through. We all looking at each other and start to grab our things to leave. We slowly leave and go our separate ways home.
The next morning, I get ready and then go downstairs and make some toast and for breakfast. I'm the first one up this morning which is unusual. I sit down on the couch and watch tv whilst I eat my toast. Shortly after, my younger sister Olivia comes downstairs. "Morning liv." I greet her. "Morning." She cheerfully replies. She makes herself breakfast and joins me on the couch. "How've you been recently." She asks me. "Ok little miss therapist. I've been doing as ok as I can be. It's been really good to connect with the girls again." I tell her. "Good. Don't over do things okay. Take your time." She advises me. Olivia is a very mature and wise girl for her age. She's only 10 and already she has a calmer and better sense of life than me. "Thanks for the advise liv. Love you." I say as I bring her into a hug and she rests her head on my shoulder. "Ok. Go get ready for school." I tell her and she runs up the stairs. I then hear my younger sister Isobel crying so I go and see what I can do for her. "Hey bubba, what you needing." I ask her sitting down next to her on her toddler bed. "I want some breakfast please." She says. "Ok little princess let's grab you some breakfast then." I pick her up and carry her downstairs. I place her in her chair and cut up some grapes and banana for her breakfast. "There you go babe." I say as I place it on her table. "Thanks." She says as she starts eating. Then Olivia comes running down the stairs again with her hairbrush and bag of hair things in her hands. "Can you do my hair, Nova." She asks me. "Of course I can sweet. What would you like me to do with it?" I ask. "Um... just a ponytail please." She tells me. "That's no problem." I say as I start putting her hair up. I finish her hair and clip a bow in. "Perfect. Go look in the mirror and make sure you like it." I tell her. "I love it!" She tells me as she looks in the mirror. I turn to see that Isobel is done with her breakfast so I clear her up and take her upstairs to get her ready for preschool. After she's all dressed I put her short hair into little pigtails with matching bows. Then my mum comes into the room. "Thanks for making sure the girls got ready this morning. Now you got get ready and head off to school." She tells me. "Do you need me to drop liv off today?" I ask. "That would be great. Thanks so much sweetie." She says as I leave to get ready. As soon as I'm ready I go downstairs and make sure liv is ready to go. "Ok, miss Olivia do we have shoes on?" I ask. "Yep" she replies. "School bag?" I ask. "Yes." She replies. "Teeth brushed?" I ask. "Done." She replies with a big grin showing me her teeth. "Ok then let's go. Jump in the car." I say as we leave the house. "Bye mum." She shouts up the stairs and we hear a distant 'bye' from my mum upstairs as I close the door.
