Audrey's testimony

U.S. Senator: I will now call forward our last witness, Audrey Adams.

Audrey: *walks up* Thank you senator.

U.S. Senator: Ms. Adams, proceed with your testimony.

Audrey: What I am about to provide will not only prove Apex is a fraudulent organization, but are secretly working with Alan Jonah and Manchaary Rybekov.

Several officials look at one another in surprise at that sentence, but stop as Audrey proceeds.

Audrey begins speaking of Apex's fraudulent work, starting with their short promotional/propaganda videos.

Audrey: First and foremost, the short videos Apex releases are fake.

U.S. Senator: In what way?

Audrey: The public's view on Apex. These propaganda pieces say the public fully supports Apex, when it is the complete opposite.

Audrey brings up 2 separate Apex videos and plays them for everyone in the room.. One features a father, the other a Chinese boy in Hong Kong.

Audrey: We have found that Apex dubs these videos, removing what people actually say. We accomplished this with help from video analysts and people skilled in reading lips.

U.S. Senator: If this is the case, what did they really say?

Audrey: The father's statement was he and his family hold negative views on Apex and didn't trust them. The child..... *sigh* said, "Your mech is the reason my dad did not come home, go away"

People in the room speak of the evidence Audrey presented, but commotion dims down when Audrey prepares the next part of her testimony.

Audrey: *slow exhale* With that, I would like to begin with my second piece of evidence.

U.S. Senator: please proceed.

Audrey: Apex's reports on titan behavior is filled with exaggerations and fabrications.

Audrey pulls up several Apex reports that describe destructive titan actions and intentions and begins reading them.

Audrey: This report claims that Godzilla and Kong assisted Mechagodzilla in the destruction of Hong Kong. I feel I don't need to explain why that is not the truth.

Audrey pulls out the next report.

Audrey: Here's a good one. Apex managed to rescue thousands of survivors in the aftermath of Mechagodzilla's attack. In reality, Monarch and Chinese officials worked in Hong Kong and no Apex members were ever present.

Audrey pulls out the final Apex report.

Audrey: My last report. During the Orga/Dagahra crisis, Mothra attempted to "eat" the two people who foolishly jumped from a building.

U.S. Senator: Eat them?

Audrey: Makes no sense to me either. When I read that that i laughed because I thought it was a joke, but this is a real report Apex made. Quick questioning and research proved this one fake too.

U.S. Senator: hmmm (in an interested voice).

Audrey: That's just 3 reports, there are dozens more, but if I were to go through them all, we would be here all day.

U.S. Senator: Earlier you stated that Apex was working with Alan Jonah and Manchaary Rybekov.

Audrey: I did.

U.S. Senator: That is a serious accusation, you need lots of evidence to support something like that.

Audrey: And I have plenty.

Audrey presents an image of Osprey's used by Jonah and Rybekov to capture titans. Officials look in confusion.

Audrey: These are new versions of Osprey's Apex created with tech used in HEAV's. Apex specifically stated they would never sell them. Yet here they are, and interestingly, Apex never reported them missing or stolen.

Officials become more intrigued in Audrey's words.

Audrey: Doesn't end there, Jonah's men were seen using energy based firearms that are only issued to Apex guards. Apex ordered these weapons and received them a day before Jonah's raid.

Officials keep listening.

Audrey: The most incriminating piece of evidence I have... is this picture provided by an ex-Apex employee.

Audrey pulls up the image for everyone to see. Eyes widen and mouths drop.

Audrey: That... is an Apex official negotiating a trade deal with Manchaary Rybekov. In the background we can see the upgraded Ospreys and the energy guns Jonah and Rybekov's men would use. This image was taken the day before Jonah's raid. Senator, I feel the evidence I have presented is indisputable.

The U.S. Senator is too stunned to give a response.

Audrey: *looks to Apex representatives* Apex has been working with these men. *walks towards them* Their work led to Monarch employees losing their lives. *stand in front of them* *in louder/aggressive tone* While they assist a man who is the reason many children have to grow up without fathers, and WIVES HAVE TO LIVE WITHOUT THEIR HUSBANDS!!!

U.S. Senator: Ms. ADAMS!!! I'm going to ask you to calm down.

Audrey: *sighs* My apologies senator... that concludes my testimony.

U.S. Senator: thank you very much, please be seated.

As Audrey went back to her seat, people discussed about the evidence presented.

Ada: What was that? I've never seen Audrey act aggressive to anyone.

Nick: She was thinking of my dad.

Dr Andrews: Well, she managed to get the job done.

Jia: *motions something to Dr. Andrews'

Nick: *looks over and leans to Dr. Andrews* What is she saying?

Dr. Andrews: "Crazy"

Nick: Is she talking about the trial?

Dr Andrews: No, she's saving your mother was crazy.

Nick: oh.. she's not entirely wrong.

U.S Senator: We have heard both organisations defences and we'd like to take our time to deliver our verdict.

U.S Senator 2: This trial goes in favour of Monarch Sciences

Everyone nodded in agreement and clapped, but the Apex officials weren't happy

Apex official: You're making a serious mistake, without us humanity--

Mark: Will be better off without you.

U.S Senator: We admit, you were a brilliant organisation, Apex. Were. But i'm afraid the fraud and propaganda must end, we will order Apex to be shut down and all is assets seized and given to Monarch. We firmly believe they'll be in better hands.

Mark: Thank you, Senator.

Nick: Woah..all of their assets..including Mechagodzilla..?

Ilene.A: Yep.
