I Promise

-Riley

Today was the day. I was going to be promised to Cole in front of everyone, as a way to show our friends and family the love he has for me. My mom told me she'd walk me down the aisle since both of my brothers volunteered to be groomsmen. Cole gave me money and sent me to go get a suit or something. I hated it, but I was joined by Alice, Anna, and Lydia. I was scared. Today is the day that I get promised to my childhood sweetheart in front of everyone. I was many things.

My mom and Sheriff Stilinski along with a few people from the station and the hospital helped put it together. I had no idea how it looked. I wanted this to be the perfect night. I was being fitted for my pants when I felt a pain in my stomach. 

"You okay?" Lydia asked me. 

"Yeah I'm alright. Just butterflies." I lied. 

"No getting cold feet." Alice said.

"Never." I laughed.

I was happy for Riley and Cole. They were really happy together. My little brother was finally happy. That asshole who hurt him was now irrelevant. He was being promised to the man who loved him with everything he was.

I was at home, relaxing before tonight when I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and it revealed a boy about 11 or 12. 

"Are you Riley?" He asked quietly. 

"Yes. Who are you little one?" I asked. 

"Cheveyo." He said. I looked at him. He changed big time from the first time I say him. 

"I didn't think you were real, always thought you were my banshee." I said as I looked closely at him. 

"You're just how I imagined you." He said as he hugged me. "Where's the others?" He asked. 

"Preparing for tonight." I told him. 

"What's tonight?" He asked. 

"Think of it as a wedding for teenagers." I told him. He nodded as he sat on my bed. 

"Where are your parents?" I asked. He looked at me with the ultimate fear. 

"They're dead." He said. 

"What happened kiddo?" I asked as I crouched in front of him. 

"My dad, he was arguing with my mom and I did what she always told me to do. I covered my ears and closed my eyes, but when I did that, it seemed like my dad's voice only got louder. I couldn't take it anymore and I screamed. I screamed so loud and when I was done, both my mom and dad were dead. I killed my parents. It's my fault why they're dead." He sobbed. 

"Hey. Don't you dare blame yourself for something you had no control over. It happened because someone was about to die." I told him. 

"How do you know?" He asked. 

"Because a couple of my friends and I have the same power you do." I said 

"Really? Does that make me one too?" He asked with tearful eyes. 

"I'll make you a deal, if you are the best man in my promise ceremony tonight, I'll tell you." I said.

 He smiled at me and his teeth were super white. "You have yourself a deal." He said.

The time for the ceremony came and man was I nervous. Cheveyo grabbed my hand and he smiled. 

"It's okay. You'll do great." He said. I smiled at him and thanked him. I watched as my brothers and friends made their way to the altar, filling up both sides. Finally, it was my turn. My mom looked at me and smiled.
