"Grizzlies down by one with 3 seconds left on the clock," Morgan wrote in her notebook with navy blue ink.

"- WAIT; ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL BUZZER BEATER BY MEMPHIS OH MY GOD, WHAT AN UPSET!!! Ending the fourth quarter with a score of 113-111!!!!" The announcer described the game over the buzzer, followed by an array of mixed emotions ranging from cheering and applause to booing and words of disbelief from the stands.

Morgan had looked up from her notebook to see Ja getting hyped up from across the floor. She shot him a small smile as they briefly locked eyes with one another.

After the win had settled and the arena was clear, Morgan began her on-court post-game interviews.

"first off, Dillon you were absolutely phenomenal. 34 points tonight, you doubled your average; I wanted to say congratulations!!" She spoke into the mic with a smile. "What was your mentality going into this game?" Morgan continued.

"Thank you; y'know I had to represent the M tonight. Uhh, I went into the game with my confidence on 10, and I think that carried me along as my teammates throughout the entire game. I don't think people realize that basketball is 90 percent mental-" He got cut off by four of his teammates interrupting him with excitement and affirmation.

Jaren, Desmond, Brandon, and Ja huddled around Dillon and Morgan; chanting and dapping one another up. "Let me see this," Jaren took the mic out of Morgan's grasp. "Just wanted to say, Memphis on top.. Chicago yall can get this work next," He spoke before returning the mic.

"Are you gonna be back on the court for Monday's game?" Morgan questioned Jaren. "Of course, gotta be there to defend the crib," He laughed "Right-right, Well while you guys are here; Congratulations" She smiled "I been told you what it was," Ja looked down at her with a smirk plaguing his face.

Morgan felt her body tense up from the look he was giving her in addition to how close he was. Her bodily reaction was apparent enough for Ja to notice; he grinned in response.

After the interview with Dillon, everyone had left to the locker room; everyone except for Ja.

"The game wasn't as tight as he claimed huh?" He repeated what Morgan had said on TV before the game. "Don't you got somewhere to be," Morgan jokingly scoffed as she gathered her belongings.

"I'm in no rush," He cleared his throat, "Can you hand me that," Morgan pointed to her iPad sitting on the seat next to Ja, "You should let me take you out tonight ma," Ja insisted while handing her the iPad.

"You really wanna go on a date with me?" She cocked her brow "That's why I keep asking..." Ja responded, "I thought you was letting the liquor speak for you when you asked me the other day..." She laughed "Drunken words are sober thoughts," He shrugged "I've been meanin' to ask you for a hot minute now," Ja continued. "mhm," She looked at him before putting her tote over her shoulder.
