"Here we are! Home sweet home!"
"Your 'Home sweet home' Aunt Lydia." deadpanned the small child from the backseat of her aunt's car. Y/n's mother had decided to send her daughter to live with her sister in Haddonfield in hopes that she would become a little more social. "Well, Y/n I think that you should consider it your home away from home, besides you and I can have a lot more fun here than if you were stuck at home with your mother where the only TV you can watch has a PG rating." the woman remarked, the two had a habit of sneaking horror movies in Y/n's house to watch when Y/n's mother would fall asleep, that is one of the reasons why she liked her Aunt better, she let her have more freedom. "But why does Mom think that I'll immediately make friends with whatever kid that's close to my age that I meet?" she grumbled exasperated. "That's just how parents are I guess. Now, what do you say I help you unpack? After I'll make some popcorn and we can watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre." offered the older of the two, that was all the child needed to hop up and out of the car to retrieve her things.
Y/n had just gotten her bags when suddenly a loud noise was heard from the house across the street, it sounded like someone yelling mixed with the heartbreaking sound of a baby crying. "Oh god, can't they just not fight for like five minutes! Those poor kids don't need that." Lydia sympathized. The nine-year-old turned her head to see a rather dismal-looking house across the street. The paint was peeling and the gate had been hardly hanging on to its hinges with way too much rust than what's considered healthy if kids were living there. The inside must have been much worse because after the pair of girls heard glass breaking and a man's voice shout something just out of the young girl's earshot Aunt Lydia seemed to hear it though because she quickly covered her niece's ears and proceeded to say hastily "Right well that's enough let's go inside! We don't want to be nosy!"

"What did you mean when you said 'those poor kids don't need that ' ? " the small girl questioned. Lydia pursed her lips in hesitation before saying "Well promise me you won't say anything, they have a little boy about your age and you might end up meeting him when school starts.", "Okay, I promise.", "Well first things first the family that house across the street, that's the Myers house, There's Deborah Myers, the mother, Judith, the oldest daughter, Michael, the middle child, and only boy, then there's the baby her name is Angel.", "That doesn't answer my question.", "I was just getting to that those kids lost their father a little while after little Angel was born, so Deborah ended up with this man named Ronnie. Now to put it simply, Ronnie doesn't treat Deborah or her kids very well and constantly gets into fights when he goes to bars, and this time he broke his arm and two of his fingers I think.", " So basically this 'Ronnie' is a garbage alcoholic who treats everyone like they aren't worth anything?", "Maybe you should stop watching those horror movies, but yes. Now I want you to promise that you won't talk about this to Michael if you ever meet him, he's rather ... disturbed.", "I promise!" That night Y/n could have sworn she was being watched, but she figured she was just paranoid because the house was new to her. Although she couldn't help but wonder what her aunt meant by the fact that this 'Michael' kid was disturbed, Y/n just dismissed it as some rumors her aunt heard at work. ["Why am I so interested in this 'Micheal' anyway? We probably will only share a glance or two in school at best. We won't have anything to do with each other in the end. ... Is something burning?"] "Hey, Aunt Lydia?", "Yeah, Y/n?", "The popcorn's burning", "Oh shi-!"
*earlier that day*
"Quit staring out the window Michael, you'll scare the shit out of the neighbors again" Judith mocked her brother, "Shut up Judith." Michael spat back at his slutty older sister, "What are you even staring at, Lydia's fuckin' boring. Don't tell me you have a thing for older women now." Judith taunted, "Fuck off Judith, you're not funny you know! I saw a new girl go into the house a few minutes ago.", "Really?! How old was she, what did she look like, did you see her face? Finally some fresh gossip!" Judith said excitedly, that old place had never been so interesting to her before, "I didn't see her face but she looked about my age that's all.", Judith snickered, "Maybe she'll be your girlfriend Mikey." Judith snickered, "Shut up Judith!" Micheal snapped turning to face the window again with a light shade of pink tingeing his face. Even when Micheal went to bed that night he could not get that girl out of his mind. ["Who is she? ...Why do I care? She wouldn't even look in my direction."]
