Chapter 9: Drive

Continuing from the cafe still with the time being 1:00 pm..............

Saori: What can we possibly be missing?

Genji: Did we miss a clue?

Tantei: Could it be that we're missing an idea or something?

Tomoko: I don't think we missed a murder did we?

Saori: I don't think so. If there was a murder, wouldn't it already be on the news?

Tantei: Yeah you have a point. I don't think it's a clue or an idea either since we encountered The Puzzler not too long ago.

Ryo: I don't think you guys ever thought about this but....what drives The Puzzler to kill people? Or in other words, why does he/her kill these people?

Tantei: That's not a bad question at all.

Tomoko: Never thought I needed to think about it.

Saori: Maybe revenge against humanity?

Tantei, and Ryo: *shake their head no*

Tantei: I don't think so.

Genji: Or he's just mentally unstable.

Tantei, Tomoko, Saori, and Ryo: *nod*

Tomoko: It's possible but..

Ryo: Not too likely.

Genji, Saori, Tantei, and Tomoko: *confused at this point*

Somewhere else in Tokyo.............

Fujio Hirono (to strangers 1, 2, and 3): *in his office* I just completed my new book "City Quest". What do you think? *shows them the cover of the book*

Stranger 1: Looks pretty nice.

Stranger 2: The cover could attract attention easily.

Stranger 3: How many chapters exactly?

Fujio Hirono: *places the book on his desk* Around 30 chapters in total.

Stranger 1: Nice, really nice.

Fujio Hirono: So what do you say? Should we begin to publish it?

Stranger 2: Sir, did you check over it?

Stranger 3: Or even revise it?

Fujio Hirono: Why yes of course I did, I couldn't let a book like this have mistakes in grammar or spelling.

Stranger 1: I also take it that the synopsis is on the back?

Fujio: Yes, as it should be. Anyway, shall we re-read the synopsis to make sure that everything is correct?

Strangers 1, 2  and 3: *nod in agreement*

Fujio: Alright. *looks on the back of the book and begins to read* In Brooklyn, New York of the United States, a high school student named James was bullied through freshman and sophomore year. However, as soon as he gets tired of it all and wants to get revenge, he trains his body allowing him to level up as if he were in a video game. In his junior year, everybody including those who even used to bully him began to look up to him as a high school leader. It is later heard that there are high schools in New York that have their fighting leaders and groups as well. Will he and his high school beat the other high schools in New York successfully?............. Alright. So what do we think, do we wanna keep this synopsis? Or is it too much?

Stranger 1: I think it's safe to say that it doesn't give much spoilers to the readers, but more of the plot so I'd say we keep it.

Stranger 3: I agree as well.
