Chapter 1: The Day It Began

*Alarm goes off*

???: *turns it off* ............Uuuugh... What time is it?

*Clock shows 5:28 a.m*

???: Sh*t man. I gotta wake up this early for a bloody exam. *gets out of his bed, brushes his teeth, and gets dressed* Welp, time for some breakfast. *Turns on T.V*

T.V: Good Morning Japan! It's your favorite 2 Newscasters: MEMELORD and Analisto! Welcome back to Tokyo Lookout News.

Analisto: For today's special guest, we have famous author Fujio Hirono! How are you Mr. Hirono?

Mr. Hirono: Good morning young lads. All is well.

Analisto: Fantastic! Going straight to the point, can you tell us a little bit about your new book Shadow Walker?

Mr. Hirono: Of course. The book ...

???: *mumbling as he's eating* Hmmm. Uncle made another book? Guess I'll read it later next week. *finishes his breakfast, cleans up, and leaves his apartment as he spreads arms with the filling air*

???: Aaaaah. Fresh air. The warmth of the sun. The lingering smell of alcohol and cigars. Genji really went hard last night ay?

Narrator: Tantei Hirono!
A 20 year old college student who goes to Shibuya University; he currently lives on his own while his parents live in their own house. He's also our main character!

Tantei: Can't believe I got a test today- just came back from some lit a** party and now I gotta take some calc exam. Oh well, it should be easy.

Narrator: Despite always being late to class and never studying, Tantei is a straight A student.

*Phone rings*

Genji: Yo what up my guy? Ready for that calc test?

Narrator: Genji Maruyama!
A childhood friend of Tantei; both love to hang out on the weekends; Genji is the more party addict compared to the two.

Tantei: You call me at 6:30 a.m to ask me about a test? You mad dawg.

Genji: Yo you know I gotta check up on you my guy. You nearly got locked out on the last test cause you were 20 minutes late.

Tantei: Yeah yeah I still made it on time though.

Genji: Whatever you say man. You close by?

Tantei: Just left my apartment. Still got another 30 minutes.

Genji: Alright bro. Imma see you at the room then. Oh yeah, Ryo says that he has your metro card.

Narrator: Ryo Watanabe!
A friend of Genji and Tantei; he met them on campus; Genji, Tantei, and Ryo are considered the "Three stooges" since they always are together; Ryo is the more calm one between the 3.

Tantei: Aaah. Must have dropped it last night. Tell him I said thanks. I'll see you boys in a few.

Genji: Will do- see you my guy.

Tantei: Peace. *ends call and starts walking to get the bus when he sees a lifeless body near the convenience store*

Tantei: *shocked* Oi! You alright old man?

Stranger: ~coughing blood~ hel.. he.. help me.

Tantei: (Oh sh**!) Alright sit tight man, I'll call for help. *calls an ambulance and then notices the man is covered in blood from head to toe. The man's shirt is all shredded and his face is bashed in so much that Tantei can't recognize the man*

Stranger: Tan.. Tant... Tantei??

Tantei: Hold up- how do you know my name?

Stranger: Of course I ~coughs~ know my own so.. so. son.
