After talking with Cole, Kai laid down on his bed and wondered if he could continue to be free. Freedom was something that he always longed for when he was taken and forced to marry that brute. He could still remember how he was dragged underground while his sister was stuck on the surface. Kai knew that she must have struggled here as he was left alone.
"If only I could turn back time." He said as he started to close his eyes and get some rest. However, as he did so...it seemed like he was transported to a dark forest. A forest that he visited many times before when he wanted to talk.

"Great...Now I need to listen to..." Kai began to grumble before a deep voice echoed around him.

Kai was about to ask for more information before the forest started to disappear. A fact that would normally anger him since that would mean that his forced companion was avoiding telling him everything again. Eventually, he saw that he was in his bed with his hands glowing purple and red. All around him...the objects in the room were floating around him before he willed his powers to go away.
"And I thought controlling fire was bad enough." Kai said. He had discovered that he could control fire when he was younger, but tried to keep it a secret. His so called husband was already forcing him to learn magic and if he learned that he could use fire....he would use him to burn down enemies to his rule. He couldn't do that to those people suffering down below, but with that thought...he started to think of how they're doing while he was topside.
He was sure that they were suffering since his so called husband would be angry that he disappeared. Though he knew that they wouldn't blame him for what is happening. He was too kind to them and would try to offer support...though it was limited thanks to those guards.
Hopefully, they would be able to hang in there for a bit longer. They will discover a way to end the king's rule and free everyone. He just needed to be patient and hope that nothing else would happen before then. Though he should've know that nothing can go smoothly.
