Saavia rolled her eyes at the subtle shade before locking her phone. This morning she was surprisingly not busy. She only had two heads to do which she knocked out in two hours before she was back in bed.

Deciding that was enough social media for now, she reached under the bed to grab one of her favorite books.

Reborn by Korin Davis.

It was a book about a young, black female who grew tired of feeling like the black sheep most of her life. Tired of going unnoticed, she began to do what she thought people would deem interesting. Basically anything to gain attention and 'friends'.

Eventually Mekka, the main character, realized the bad attention she was getting, wasn't worth it. And that her so called friends were never the people she thought they were.

The story follows her trying to 'rebrand' herself in a way. It caught Saavia's attention because she could relate to feeling like the black sheep.

Saavia never had many friends. She actually had one friend, Taylor, but they lost touch when she went off to school in Cali.

She wasn't difficult to get along with, she just never truly felt heard or understood with anyone besides Dayvon.  She did want that friendship connection, she just didn't want to force it.

The door opening barely took Saavia out of her trance, but she missed her boyfriend.

"Put the book down, nerd." Dayvon smiled pulling Saavia small waist into his.
