peaking around the corner as her parents argued, the little girl listened intently. she always knew how these nights would end. "shut the fuck up whore!" her dad yelled to her mother.
it was a routine the little girl was tired of. as disgusting as it was, he'd rape his wife just before his morning service at the church. he came home late every night, wasted til he could barely stand.
he'd beat his wife senseless in front of his little girl then pray over them, repent his sins, he called it. said that if he prayed god would forget and he'd be forgiven.
with a doll in her hand she calmly walked towards the yelling man.
he looked down and chuckled, "go back to your fucking room. this has nothing to do with you, you." he glanced at his wife. "get this little shit before i kick it." he spat.
"don't you dare speak to my daughter that way." her mother kneeled and held her face in her hands. "it's alright darling, don't cry." she wiped her daughters tears away.
the little girl no longer felt pain or sadness and didn't realize she was crying until her mother acknowledged it. "go back in the room baby."
"no." the little girl finally spoke. "i won't leave you here with him. i don't want him to hurt you." a silent tear ran down her mothers face as she stared at her child.
"did you hear me bitch?" the pair were so caught up in their own conversation they blurred out his words.
as soon as her mother stood up she was sent back to the floor by a swinging arm.
"you're gonna ignore me? in my house?!" he grabbed her hair. "you're a useless, you have no value. i own you and if it wasn't for me you'd still be on the streets fucking every damned man for spare change. "
he got on top of his wife beating her senseless. the little girl stood there in silence caressing her dolls hair as she watched the gruesome scene in front of her.
and for the first time in a while she began to feel something
slowly but surely she made her way into the kitchen, grabbing the sharpest knife she could find. she glanced at the knife.. seeing her reflection, a little white smile was casted upon her lips
she had never seen herself more clearly
she walked up to the man, staring at her prey awaiting the right moment to react.
the moment he glanced up a sharp blade entered his neck. and realization dawned upon the littles girls face as large amounts of blood began to paint her white dress.
he stood astill, holding his hand over the wound as his eyes opened more than a fraction.
she jumped from the chair to his back and continuously stabbed him until he fell to his knees in agony.
even then she didn't stop. as the knife punctured his arteries and as blood splashed on the little girls face her mother watched in horror.
once she was pleased, she turned her head towards her mother, a grin spread across her face. "it's okay mommy. he'll never hurt you again."
she crawled off her father and cupped her mother's face before encapsulating her in a hug, unfazed at what she had just done.
grabbing her doll, she began humming a familiar melody as she walked away from the sickening sight she had created.
the present
"mileena. my office. five minutes." my boss stated quickly. what does he want now? i loathed when people interrupted me while working.
