As the rest of the Weasley family woke up and came into the kitchen to eat breakfast, Harry thought over Hermione's proposition. Sure, he felt he SHOULD be in the program, but the idea of working with the people who denied Voldemort had returned and left Hogwarts in the hand of Umbridge, the worst person Harry had ever met-and he had also known Snape- was not very appealing.

Harry's thoughts were interrupted by a particular flash of red dodging around trying to toast a muffin in the crowded kitchen. Ginny.

Harry hadn't had a good chance yet to talk to Ginny about their relationship, they had only met up a few months ago at the emergency DA meeting before the Battle of Hogwarts. And afterwards, Ginny had been preoccupied with helping her mother get back into life after Fred's funeral. Harry hadn't wanted to take away Ginny from Mrs. Weasley, so he concentrated on helping Mr. Weasley and George make repairs to the Burrow and other places that had been attacked by the Death Eaters. Harry had been content just watching Ginny from afar and waiting for the right time to talk again.

So he became very excited and scared when Ginny walked over and sat next to him on the couch.

Ginny didn't speak at first, her mouth was full of muffin and she was busy tying her long hair up into a bun. Harry trembled and tried his hardest not to stare. Even when she was in her old quidditch jersey and hand-me-down flannel pants, she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

"Mornin' Harry,"

"Hi...Ginny..."

"I was wondering... if you maybe wanted to.."

"Yeah! ...Sure!"

Ginny grinned and blushed. "Thanks, I'm glad you're excited to help Hermione with her recovery aid... thing."

Harry blanked for a second, trying to retrace his steps and seem cooler.

"Oh, wha-how are we going to ai-help?"

Nice job Chosen One

"Well Hermione's planned to hold a big lunch in Diagon Alley, so that people can come pick up free food. This is all part of her plan to rebuild the wizard world from the inside out, you know, 'from the people within the buildings and towers!' She gets very excited, it's very cute."

"Yeah, it is." Said Harry as he smiled reminiscently, thinking of the days when Hermione tried to get him and Ron involved in S.P.E.W

Ginny raised an eyebrow and smiled evilly.

"Oh? You think? Be careful Harry, I think Ron's got a head start on you."

Harry realized what he said and panicked.

"No! I didn't mean-well, I like Hermione of course, but not- and I'd never- couldn't be, it was never her- I mean- I only ever care about-"

He stopped and turned pale, trying to say the right thing.

Ginny stood up, "Meet me down here at 3:00 sharp, and dress warm, it's been chilly lately."

She smiled at Harry and walked away. Her red hair danced back and forth as she went.

Harry ran a hand through his hair and tried to hide his red face from the rest of the family in the kitchen.

Did she mean that? Or was she messing with me?
