Chapter 1: Lucky Lei

" Lei! Where are you?! " Pierce shouted angrily from the corridors which made Lily shut his eyes tightly before hiding back in the corner of the classroom.

" He's looking for you" Gab, his seatmate whispered and leaned closer to him which made Lily sigh problematically.

" Don't mind that fucker, I already told him I'm not going," Lily whispered back and continued reading his notes.

The exams are approaching and he's busy as it is but Pierce, his friend seems to not care about the exams and still has the guts to invite him to play today. Honestly, Lily couldn't be bothered by Pierce's carefree attitude.

Lily flinched when the window next to him harshly opened revealing Pierce's serious face that almost caused him a heart attack.

" What the fuck are you doing?" Lily whispered angrily and pushed his face out when Pierce decided to lean in closer.

" Ombhmshmp-" Pierce continued talking despite being inaudible due to Lily's hand on his face. Lily shook his head and pulled back his hand while cringing in disgust as he stare at his hand that was now wet by his friend's saliva.

" You shitty—" he murmured but decided not to continue. He just clicked his tongue in annoyance and pulled Gab by his collar and wiped his hand on the latter's uniform.

" Hey! That's disgusting! " Gab complained and quickly stand up which caused his chair to fall over on the floor, causing a loud thud to echo inside their classroom.

" Quiet boys, we're in the middle of self-study. Representative Lei, can you keep those guys quiet? " The vice representative of the class, Shera said sternly and looked meaningfully at Lily who just chuckled apologetically at everyone.

" Now, now, you're disturbing our class. Go back to your classroom. " Lily said pertaining to Pierce who was still pouting while watching them from the open window.

" Ugh whatever, make sure to come later," Pierce said and closed the window shut. Lily just rolled his eyes at his remark and thought 'as if.

" Shera's too stern as usual" Gab whispered beside him and chuckled while fixing his chair which made Lily take a simple glimpse at the girl sitting far away from them. He grinned and looked at Gab before slightly bumping his shoulder into him.

" Just like how you like it.." he teased him which made Gab's ears immediately turn red.

" Dream on, she's not my type. " Gab denied with a disgusted expression on his face which made Lily arch his eyebrows at him.

' Yeah right, ' he sarcastically thought and focused on the notes in front of him. The formulas of basic calculus hurt his head like no one. If there's something he is eager to learn in this world, that is how to do Math.

" How am I supposed to remember this shit? " Lily whispered to himself and frustratedly scratched his head as he read the notes from page one.

" You review lit and I'll handle cal " Gab whispered hearing what he murmured to himself. He frowned at him and tilted his head in confusion.

" Kay..." Lily replied and closed his calculus notes and pulled out the literature book instead.

It may be shocking, but Lily and Gab are both smart students. They're in a class that specializes in science and mathematics, although Literature is still a major subject. Pierce is the only one who belongs to a different section, his class specializes in sports and physical training.

' fuck mathematics ' Lily thought still mad at the subject for hurting his head. He hissed under his breath and started scanning his literature book only to be bored in the middle. He slammed the book shut and closed his eyes tightly before resting his head on the table.
