Street lights began to illuminate the newly paved roads as night swept through the town, at that time seventeen year old Andy Jackson was in his room wide awake on caffeine. Andy gripped his playstation controller tightly and yelled softly into his mike so as not to wake his sleeping mother down the hall. Right beside the boy were two empty cans of redbull and his charging phone, he was playing video games with his basketball mates: Jason, Chance, Patrick and Lucas.

"OH shit- he's on your right! No no Left!!" Lucas yelled through his headphones, Lucas had never been the best at this game but was always persistent to play with the rest of the boys, "Sorry Pat.." he sighed after Patrick was killed because of his directions.

Andy could tell Patrick was smiling on the other end, "it's ok dude, we all have to learn at some point," he spoke kindly back to Lucas, "there was I time I was even worse than you! I'm not going to sugar code it," He laughed thinking back to when he, Andy and Jason used to play when they were kids.

Twenty minutes passed by and the boys had finished there Mach Lucas had already left the lobby because his mom found out he was still awake, things didn't look good for him. Andy decided to head to bed after that match, after all the caffeine he was still quite tired, plus it was a school night and he needed his energy for basketball practice.

Andy curled up in his twin sized bed (so hard not to say mattress) putting his arms under his pillow and resting his head on to it he finally shut his tired eyes and attempted to fall asleep after everything he had drank beforehand.

His phone buzzed right as he was almost asleep, he got back up and sat on the edge of his bed. The phone kept buzzing so he took it in his hand and looked at the stream of texts coming from some unknown number, Andy unlocked his phone and scrolled through the texts, "Oh fuck you." He started harshly glaring at the messages from some sort of internet scammer, "asshole in trying to sleep." He shut his phone off and put it on silent, getting back into bed after.

The morning he was woken up by his mom hurting around the house getting ready for the work day she had infront of her. Andy checked his clock to see it was seven forty two, he had to be ready for the bus at eight. Shit.

He threw his blankets to the floor in a panic looking around his room for clothes, a pounding headache overtook him and he held his head while rummaging through his dresser drawers. The outfit consisted of big gray jeans, an ACDC shirt with a red flannel over top asleep as a pair of yellow-ish Vans.

Stairs creaked as he walked down them to greet his mom and have a short breakfast before walking to the end of his driveway to wait for the bus.

"Oh, good morning Andy," his mother smiled frying eggs on the stove for her and her son, "how was your sleep?" She gave him a knowing smile as if telling him that she knew about him staying up to play with his friends.

"Ya know," he paused, "the usual," a smile spread across his face watching his mothers reaction. Him and his mother had always been close and she was fine with him doing what he pleased as long as he didn't hurt himself or anyone else, she really was the best mother Andy could have ever asked for.

Once he was almost done with his food his mother commented it was almost eight and he might want to hurry, Andy finished up and grabbed his school bag swinging it over his shoulder, waving to his mother before leaving.
