I glanced at my watch "It's almost time, they're going to come pick me up soon"

Her face face, so I added "You could come sleep with me tonight. I mean such a mansion with me alone in my wing? It's going to be lonely"

She huffed "Alone? They said they'd be discharging Tade today"

My heart skipped a beat "What?"

She stared at me in disbelief "You didn't know? Aunt Joyce and everyone are preparing to take you home for your first night"

A look of horror washed over my face "First what?! That man is in a vegetative state! I can't do anything with him. That's the main reason I'm here. No intercourse, just money"

She shook her head at me like I'm crazy and signaled with her head behind me "I don't think it's with him though, I think it's with... him"

I followed her eyes to rest on Edmond... Tade's 30 year old, younger brother...Handsome, mischievous, a brutal womanizer and worse of all... the most arrogant creature devil himself sculpted.

My mouth fell open "You... You must be... be joking" I stuttered. "They wouldn't do such! I never agreed to this!"

She shook her head "Didn't you? Did you even read the whole agreement before you signed?"

I looked away. She was right. I'd worked as Tade's secretary before his accident, took his vegetative state and brain damage as an opportunity. I feigned to be in love with him and took to tendering to him. They proposed marriage faster than I'd dreamt and I signed some paperworks and accepted.

Rosie shook her head in pity at me "I told you, these people are something else. You should've been careful. If Tade is about to die, then you're here for more than money, houses and cars. This is not a marriage Salome, this is a prison"

This time, I didn't take her as dumb, as my heart began to beat tremendously in my chest. I looked back again and saw Edmond walking toward me with a smirk on his face.

I'd always hated him and he never hid his hatred for me either, but my side of the contract never for once mentioned him coming in place of Tade for anything at all, but I guess I was too blinded by the figures that I failed to realize that I was just here for breeding of children, and since Tade was in no position to disperse seeds, that he was going to do with a little help.

But that little help being Edmond suddenly caused my head to ache and my legs to wobble.

Rosie reached out for me, quickly grabbing my hand "Are you Okay?" She asked.

I struggled to talk. But then Edmond walked and stopped before me. "If you will, the car to take you home is waiting outside" he said, a smirk on his dangerously handsome face.

It caused everything in me to quiver... not out of excitement, but out of hatred... hatred for what he did to me when... maybe I'd reserve it for later. Because, as he outstretched his hand and took mine, helping me to my feet... I shot one last glance at Rosie and followed him.

My mind filled with how I was just going to escape the night.

For a certified gold digger like me, I was really in a lot of trouble.
