"Not cool Ben!" Liu shouts sounding exasperated, holding out his palm to you expectantly. "What is that?" Jeff demands trying to peer over your shoulder as you pass it over into Liu's waiting hand. "It's none of you're fucking business." it's owner snaps threateningly flashing Jeff a murderous look and with that the picture is shoved safely into Liu's pocket who fixes Ben with a final withering glare.

"Jackass." he declares ultimately deep emerald eyes shifting to you intently.

"C'mon, let's go Y/N." he holds out his hand and you reluctantly let him lead you into the closet. As you cross it's threshold the large wooden door groans shut behind you leaving the both of you standing in complete darkness. The thin strip of light coming through the bottom of the door is snuffed out by the dense blackness of the closet and offers no real illumination.

You try waving a hand in front of your face to test whether or not your vision has adjusted. Nothing, you can't see anything you conclude dismally. Your hand smacks against something solid and...hairy? You jump "Ow!" Liu exclaims grabbing your wrist firmly "Sorry!" you say sheepishly stepping back to give him room. Your foot catches on something unseen on the ground and you stumble backwards. Liu's arm wraps around your waist to steady you "Let's sit, it's pitch black in here for you." he offers seeming genuinely concerned about your welfare as he ushers you towards a wall and helps you to the ground.

What's that supposed to mean? If you can't see then he shouldn't be able to either you try to reason, totally bewildered at his bizarre statement. He slides down next to you and you both just sit in silence for a moment. His shoulder brushes against you as he raises his arm and a soft scraping sound can be heard. You can practically picture him scratching his head awkwardly and it prompts you to speak.

"What's that picture supposed to be of?" you inquire casually "Oh, it was a picture of me and Jeff outside our new house....it's the only one I have of us. I know it's burnt to shit but I can't bring myself to throw it away." he sighs tapping the floor rhythmically. "So Jeff is your-" you begin tentatively "Brother." he supplies dropping his arm and fidgeting with something that makes a rustling sound. "You both have scars on your faces were you two in an accident of some kind?" Liu clears his throat awkwardly but doesn't answer, the silence that follows is deafening.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. You don't have to answer that, it's not really my business." you apologize quickly, regretting not thinking before speaking and letting your curiosity get the better of you. "It's fine, I'm not angry or anything." he assures you patting your knee "It's just...I guess I've never really had to explain it to anyone before. I kinda don't know how to answer that..." the brunette trails off shifting his body weight.

"When we were younger, my brother.. ..he uh, kinda went mad.." your brows furrow and you tuck your hair behind your ears leaning forward towards the sound of his voice. "Mad as in-" "Crazy." he interjects "He killed dad and mom. Then he came into my bedroom...and he...." Liu's voice is eerily steady as he explains but then it just slows until it drops and he's quiet, leaving you to digest what he just said.

You sit shocked and trembling Jeff murdered his own parents? Nausea builds in your gut and you lean back letting your head fall against the wall with a soft thud. What do you say when somebody says something like that? You're at a loss for words. "He didn't mean to hurt me, my brother loves me! He was going through a lot w-we all were! He's not a monster! He j-just, I just-!" Liu begins screaming, rocking backwards and forwards from his position on the floor like he's caught in some sort of PTSD induced fit.

It startles you badly and you don't know what to do so you reach out into the darkness and attempt to place a hand on his back to comfort him somehow. His body stiffens becoming still like a statue "Liu...you're ok, breathe. It's over you and your brother have moved on." you console him rubbing soothing circles between his shoulders. "It's amazing that you're able to see past everything that happened and forgive him. You two must really have a strong bond, you're both so lucky." you say hoping your words will be well received. "Liu the spineless little prick IS lucky because of ME." the brunette grounds out in a gravelly voice.
