Sofia: My first thought was that it is cold, wet and cold. Light snowfall scattered among the ground. I was freezing in my California clothes and my skin was no match for this Jersey weather. I would have to go shopping soon.

I was dressed in a white tanktop with an over size cardigan wrapped around me. I was wearing low rise boot cut jeans the abercrombie ones that thankfully just came back in style and my converse. My hair was left naturally as it is very curly and long, I let it sway behind my back. I wanted to dress comfortable for the long flight I had just endured.

We first arrived at my new house in Jersey were my Father and Katrina will be living. It was a quaint three bedroom house, with a cute white picket fence surrounding it. It will be a nice place for them to live. I am just worried about the snow, as my Dad has never dealt with snow before... and neither have I.

Next stop was E.C. Academy Boarding, what I have been dreading the whole flight here. I was mainly nervous about my living situation and my peers. I have always lived with family and never completely on my own. Plus it has been a while since I made any new friends after my moms passing. In fact I don't think I really have any friends left.

I had a good amount of friends before my mom got sick and even did cheer-leading and ballet. Once she got sick, I withdrew with anyone and spent all my time with her.

What if the kids didn't like me? What if my California accent and mannerism were weird? My father and Katrina were telling me how expensive and nice of a school this was, what if all the kids were a bunch of rich snobs?

I was never poor but never rich either. My grandparents on my father's side are pretty wealthy and offered to pay for my schooling, as long as I went here.

I stepped out of the taxi with one of my suitcases my dad struggling behind me trying to bring my art bag.

I stared up at the massive building that looks like it was made in the 1700's. I turned to my dad in shock.

"See kid you always wanted to go to Hogwarts" he mused but I could see the scared look on his face. His eyes searching mine to see if I hated it. I swallowed the lump in my throat and ignored my massive butterflies in my stomach and gave him a half smile.

The whole building was made of stone so it gave the appearance of a castle. Huge windows adorned the tops of the building and ivory danced across two towers.

Snow was starting to fall and fast, as it piled up in the windows and the doors.

We quickly made it inside because I was literally starting to freeze to death. My dad promised to buy me the thickiest warmest coat money could buy and send it here as soon as possible. The Boarding School was about forty minutes away from dad and Katrina's new house.

Once inside we entered a huge room with two stairways on either side. Everything was covered in dark wood and dark colors of navy and red littered the walls.
