The Past effects the Future

Warning: This chapter will have some violence and sad moments/flashbacks...

Pov Lucas:

" I really think you should stop gambling! How about we go to a counselor to get some help" Leilani says
" I really think you should stay out of this! Im the one who is providing for this household  I don't need help, shouldn't you just be a wife and focus on more important things!" I respond in anger

" I just want you to get help this isn't healthy for you or our marriage and Angelo our son!" She says
"Our son is 11 years old... he will soon have to understand that becoming a Man means making sacrifices!"
"So that means you just treat him bad and you wonder why he talks back-?...." She says gently
" no, I'm helping him plus He shouldn't talk back....Doesn't the good book say "honor thy father and mother"? I question her
" yes- BUT, also the Bible says right under Ephesians 6:2 verse 4 says And, "Fathers provoke  not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord!" She says
" whatever all I know is that I am the man of the house, I don't want to argue with you on this!" I respond then take my last sip of wine... she walks out my office into the kitchen!

Pov Leilani:

As I wait for Angelo get ready for school  in the kitchen, I sit down To pray and read Psalms 27 to calm my nerves after the argument Lucas and I had-
Angelo comes down into the kitchen and sits down " taeao manuia mama!" Angelo says while I hand him his breakfast!
" Good morning sweetie- But remember your father wants you to learn more Italian, so what do you say instead?"  I respond
" buongiorno mama!" Angelo says
" Good job baby!" I hug Angelo
" yessss good job figlio!" Lucas says as he heads in the kitchen to grab coffee...
" I'm leaving out I have some meetings to attend to and then I'm stopping by the casino!" Lucas says
He kisses me on the cheek and scrunches Angelo's hair then leaves....
I know that Lucas has a wealthy life from his family's wine vineyard company and now unfortunately gambling but I'm worried that this gambling will lead to much worse things for us!"

"Mama can we read a bible verse before school?"  Angelo asks
" yes of course we can!" I respond 
Im so proud of him already at 11 years old he Loves Jesus and knows the way... everyday he tells me he wants to open up a small gelato shop and give Jesus all gelato for free! I think it's adorable!
The telephone rings I pick up the phone from the counter- " hello" " Ciao! Is this the Giovanni residence?" The random man asks
"Si, who's asking?" I ask uneasily
" well Mrs. Giovanni my name is Francesco... I just wanted to know if your Husband was around?" He says
" He's busy at the moment but I will inform him that you called!" I offer
" sure, we'll be in touch!" The phone clicks

4 years later

Pov: Angelo (now 15 years old)
" You Will go into street fighting or else! END OF DISCUSSION!" my Father yells at me
I swallow my tears and be a man since that is all my father tells me "be a man"
I don't understand why- what did I do?!
I just want to go to school and work at the gelato shop... 
yet my Father- no Lucas wants me to join street fighting since I have a good athletic build and I'm big for a 15 y/o so no one would really know my age!
I feel scared and nervous, I don't want to fight people...
Mama walks in after Hearing the whole argument!
" hey Figlio, how you feeling?"
"Mama- why are we moving and how come Pa is selling the estate and why does he hate me so much?" I ask

" sweetie he doesn't hate you and don't worry I will have a talk with your father, you are not going into street fighting!" she reassures me and gives me a hug. 
Mama and I pray and then she walks out my room!

A couple months later  (Pov Angelo) :
The talk mama had with Lucas didn't go well and Mama isn't feeling her best Doctors have been saying her blood pressure is high from stressing so much.... So  for the past weeks I have been in the boxing ring with my trainer Dio he seems cool but I don't trust anyone anymore! Especially after Lucas threatening to leave me and mama if I don't go into street fighting!
Even though him leaving wouldn't do anything but save us less of an headache!
