Buzz’s Pov:
I woke up to the sound of my annoyingly loud alarm. I turned it off and walked towards the bathroom. I looked in the mirror, feeling disgust towards myself. I was so skinny you could almost basically see my ribs, I had pale skin, making my freckles way more noticeable, and to top it off, I had red hair. I just wish I looked as good as Finney. Yeah, I bully him, but I only do it because I'm jealous. He looks way better than me in every way. I went to my closet to get some clothes to wear for the day. I chose a gray, white sweater, and some black jean leggings. I fix my hair up a bit, cause it's not like I change its style much. I run down stairs, walking past my passed out mom on the couch and to the kitchen. I made some toast, ate it, then slipped on my shoes and jacket. I grabbed my bag and walked out the door. I pet my cat, Junior, goodbye and left. I was walking when I noticed Matty and Matt hanging by the gate, So they waited for me, I thought.
“Buzz! You’re finally here!” I heard Matt yell. I waved and said a quiet ‘hello’ to them. Matty patted me on the back while smiling at me. I felt hot when he did that, but I shrugged it off. Maybe it is just hot today. I walked on one side of Matty and Matt on the other side of him. There is this group of girls that stand at their lockers that are near ours, I'm pretty sure one of them has a crush on Matty and oh boy could I tell. The girl walked up to Matty and started to talk. I found out her name is Mia and she would not stop talking. She was totally a pick me girl. I rolled my eyes as she kept talking.
Matty’s Pov:
Mia talked a lot, but I found out we have a lot in common. I feel like we might become a thing sooner or later. I noticed Buzz looked annoyed, maybe he was bored. He looked more agitated now so I decided to do something about it, “Mia, it was great talking to you but we gotta get going, we got things to do,” I said in the nicest way possible.
“Oh! Right yeah sorry, um, here is my number! We can talk later?” She said, I just nodded yes and waved bye. I don't know why Buzz was so mad, he should be happy I found someone who actually likes me. I couldn’t help it, he can’t just be mad at every little thing that goes good for someone else. He is too insecure which makes him always jealous when someone else gets something lucky to happen to them. “Buzz, what the heck man, why are you so mad?!” I asked him. He looked startled by the question. He answered with a quiet ‘I don't know.’ “Well then why are you so mad that Mia was talking to me?!”
I think that made him snap cause he answered with a, “I don’t know, okay Matty! It is just that I can't help but feel jealous that I'm always thrown to the back when many other people around me, including you guys, always get noticed while I'm sitting here feeling like I'm a mistake! And I don't care what you say, I have to get to class.” He stormed off, leaving me speechless. Matt just shook his head and walked to class, but the look on his face said that he knew something I didn't, and I needed to know.
