YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

Violent images of her boyfriend getting skewered flash in her head as Momo awakens from her nightmare in a cold sweat. Momo gasps for air sitting up and trying to calm herself down from the recurring dream. It was these nights when she regretted watching the security footage from the Shie Hassaikai base. When Tsukauchi warned her about it she never considered it to be so horrific that it affected her sleep almost 4 months after the funeral. She swung her legs over the side of her bed and made her way down to the common area where she made herself a cup of tea. As the water boiled she looked out to the courtyard seeing the shrine for their fallen classmate. She walked to the window and said a brief prayer before pouring the boiling water into a cup and walking outside to get some fresh air. She wore the jacket given to her by her late boyfriend. It let her feel like he was protecting her even after he was gone. She walked along the path of the campus sipping her tea gradually until she reached a large oak tree with roots that jutted out of the ground that she like to use as an impromptu chair. Sitting on said roots she gazed up to the sky admiring the stars. This was her refuge, a place where she could sit and think about the nightmare that plagued her night after night with no sign of stopping. She couldn't help but hope it was some kind of sign that there was a chance she could bring him back. Deep down she knew this was futile, but her mind refuse to accept it. As she sat deep in her usual thoughts, she heard footsteps coming from the path. She glanced to her left and saw a boy with a headband walking toward her.

Awase: "Couldn't sleep?"

Momo: "Haven't been able to for months"

Awase purses his lips realizing his misstep. It was no secret to anyone in class B that he had a crush on Momo and even some people in class A knew, but Momo was oblivious.

Awase: "Mind if I sit?"

Momo nods without saying a word and Awase sits on the root next to her. For a while, neither spoke a word, for one it was awkward, but for the other, a comfortable silence. Momo stole glances at Awase wondering when he'd leave, it wasn't that she disliked him it was that this was the one consistent time per day she got some alone time. The one thing that hadn't changed was Momo's kindness. With school postponed without a set date for its return, Momo spent her day running around the dorm putting out fires, whether it be the daily squabble between Bakugo and whoever he was fighting with or Mina asking way too many personal questions likely trying to set her up with another boy. The one time she counted on to relax was now and she was not thrilled about sharing it. Awase didn't see it this way, he saw Momo as broken and wanted to fix her and lift her back up to her usual self. If you were to tell Momo that someone wanted to fix her, she would start laughing as she won't be whole ever again. After a couple of minutes, Awase broke the silence-

Awase: "How've you been, I rarely see you or your class despite our extra free time."

Momo: "I've been managing... everyone else has been training to stay sharp, but I can't bring myself to go in any buildings on campus let alone train. I can't see myself staying here much longer, but at the same time it's what he would've wanted."

Awase nods trying to empathize with her, but he couldn't in a million years know how she felt.

Awase: "Knowing him, he would want you to be happy no matter what you do."

Momo sighs deeply finishing her tea and setting the cup on the grass near her feet.

Momo: "I suppose you're right, but if I give up I feel like it'll haunt me more."
