Alfred smiled. "Awesome!" he yelled. Not only did Japan say he would stay, but he also said that Alfred didn't need to change! That was just about the best thing Alfred had ever heard! And he was only 19! But now what? What was he gonna do? Grab Kiku's hands and scream "I LOVE YOU!"!? Sorry, but I don't think that would work.
Kiku kinda just smiled. Wait, SMILED!? Okay, we have a happy Alfred over here. Alfred couldn't help but to smile wider. Why would Kiku be smiling? I mean, yeah, you've got the people who smile nonstop like Feliciano or Gilbert, but then you had people like Kiku, who rarely smiled, and probably didn't know how cute they looked when they DID smile.
... Did I just say that? Well, that's how Alfred felt right then.
"If you don't mind me asking," Kiku said, making Alfred snap back into reality, "why did you want so badly to change?"
This, strangely enough, made Alfred's heart shatter, but then fix itself a little. He hated when people asked him that, usually, but... He could tell Kiku. Alfred took a deep breath.
"If you don't want me to know-" Kiku began, until Alfred cut him off.
"Maybe it's time I told someone how I feel," Alfred said. "I hate what people say about me."
