A Secret Told Under Mistletoe

Note: This story is not Season 4 compliant (Wishmaker did not happen)

The team that day worked together to take down a challenging akuma. Their chemistry didn't just exist in their ability to work together as heroes, but also in the fact that there were two couples among them.

After the battle, Ladybug kissed her girlfriend Ryuko in celebration. Rena and Carapace followed suit, their kiss very well practiced after years of being together.

Then there were Chat Noir and Viperion.

It probably would have been less awkward for Chat Noir to offer his fellow single teammate a fist bump or a high five.

That wasn't exactly what happened.

Chat Noir knew he wanted something like what the couples in front of him had. All of the feelings he had been holding back for Viperion suddenly came over him all at once in a wave. He had heard Luka say that he wasn't really looking for a relationship. His last one ended on good terms, but he just needed some time to figure himself out. Of course, Adrien had respected this.

Although, that had been months ago and he didn't exactly know how to ask Luka about it. Could he have changed his mind since then?

Lost in his thoughts his gaze had wondered to Viperion's lips. The snake Miraculous holder was watching the sunset and the couples in front of him, entranced in thoughts of his own.

Chat Noir found himself leaning closer. Then, about half way there he realized that he was leaning in for a kiss.

What am I thinking?! He scolded himself mentally and began to pull away, feeling pretty embarrassed about his impulsiveness. They hadn't talked about how they felt about each other. Chat knew exactly how he felt about Luka, but not the other way around.

But Viperion HAD noticed what Chat Noir had been about to do. In that moment, he leaned and pressed their lips together himself.

Chat Noir let out a surprised "MMPH!" as his tail shot up behind him, but the initial shock soon wore off and he found himself kissing Viperion back.

The kiss started to become deeper, but not before the reality of what was happening dawned on both of them. They nearly jumped back from each other, blushing furiously.

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have kissed you without asking!" Chat Noir held up his hands apologetically.

Viperion tilted his head. "I- Uh... I'm not sure that's what just happened."

Rena walked towards both of them and crossed her arms. "Here's the real scoop, boys. Chat Noir you wanted to kiss Viperion but hesitated. That's when Viperion kissed you."

She obviously approved of the kiss and Adrien knew just exactly who was under her mask. The fox hero was holding back her desire to ask about all of the details of what just happened.

"She's right." Viperion admitted, with a shy smile.

"Yet, you both pulled back. It is obvious you both feel something for each other, or your actions wouldn't have been what they were." Ryuko noted.

"Woah, hold on a minute! I think we just witnessed their first kiss. I don't think either of them expected it to happen!" Carapace leaned into Chat Noir with a wink. "I think the two of you might need to talk about what just went down."

Chat Noir definitely hadn't been thinking about the fact that his teammates would see the kiss when he started leaning in. What they were saying was laced in what he could only interpret as approval. Were his friends wanting them to be together this whole time?
