-Felix
|| " ugly face "
" you should be happy "
Is that the reason why he looked so annoyed?
Is that why he didn't want to talk to me?
..Am I still not pretty enough?
.
.Thousand thoughts kept nagging onto Felix's mind. It was like they were eating him alive while all he wanted to do was run away from them without having the ability to do so.
It felt like suffocating,
drowning,
dying. If only Chan knew what effect his simple words had.
.
.But the said boy was - once again - defending himself since the topic 'Felix' and his behavior towards him came up.
"Can you finally stop talking about him? I don't care how he feels and if my words were 'rude', they just had to be spoken.", Chan groaned in annoyance.
His best friend sighed, probably for the 6th time in this conversation.
"You and me, we both know I cannot force you to like Felix and I don't want to.. but I just.. how do I say it... I feel like you should at least give him a chance. You never really got to know him, now did you?""And I don't want to", he mumbled.
Chan knew the words of the younger weren't wrong at all and it would be the most mature way to handle the situation but the boy's stubbornness wouldn't let him.
What if Felix is just like this actually?
What if there's no more personality to him?
Or if he's even worse if you get to know him..The Australian boy let a defeated sound leave his mouth. "Can you just drop the topic. I get it."
"Come on, Chan. I don't want you to be best friends with Felix but just be more polite towards him, yea?.. You know, honestly his friend Han Jisung seemed like a really good guy when I worked with him. I bet Felix is alright, too."
Seeing the tired look in Chan's eyes, Minho sighed and decided to cut the conversation short.
"Just don't make any rude comments next Art lesson and act like a normal person and it'll be fine."
.
.
.Chan had his friend's words run through his mind for the rest of the day.
'act like a normal person'
So a normal person would like Felix?"So what if I'm just not normal?", thinking to himself on his way home. Minho usually always joins Chan for most part of the way since they live pretty close together. Though today the other said he was meeting up with someone else which was totally fine for Chan..
totally.
The younger male was his best and only friend since they were 11 years old, of course he understood that Minho has other friends besides him, he always has and it never bothered Chan. Why should it in the first place? But lately he hasn't been so calm about it anymore.
His friend has mentioned Felix a lot of times recently and seemed to get along with friends of the other Australien boy pretty well. It would be too much saying it scared Chan but to say the least it did worry him. He didn't want to lose his best friend to Felix.
Not to the boy he hated. So while Chan was walking to the next bus stop, he spottet someone familiar sitting on the bench of the station. It's very unusually for someone else to be there at this time, as him and Minho are always alone waiting for the bus to arrive.
When he got closer he realized who it was and oh god, how much he just wanted to turn around and walk the rest home even if it would be a 40 Minutes walk.
Come on, take a deep breath, and if you're lucky he won't recognize or even see you.But honestly why did he think so? Chan and luck? Something that didn't go well together.
The boy looked up after a few seconds when noticing someone standing a couple steps away from. And he, of course, immediately recognized him.
"Hey, you're Bang Chan, right? You worked with Felix last Art lesson, didn't you?", his voice was kind and warm almost cheerful.
In reality, the shorter male knew exactly what happened during the mentioned lesson - although Felix would've never told him. He never wanted him to be worried. Well, too bad the boy heard everything Chan had said to Felix at the end of the lesson. The older boy was already annoyed. It's horrible enough talking to any friend of Felix.
But Han Jisung?
Everyone knew they were best friends. A conversation between him and Chan just couldn't go well - for both of them.Chan sighed quietly.
"Han Jisung, right?"
"Correct." The boy smiled but the smile didn't last long. He starred at Chan critically, trying to study him. Finally he stood up from the bench he has been sitting on, to look straight into the older ones' eyes."Listen Chan, I won't make this very long but let me just say: I know what happened in Art class when you and Felix were working together. I'm not even that mad.. mostly. But what you did was not okay, it maybe doesn't seem like a big deal to you but it is for Felix. These kind of things just mess with his head..", almost whispering the last sentence.
"He seriously enjoys Art, putting a lot effort in everything he does in class so if you proceed to make Art class unenjoyable for him while you have to work together, I won't let it slide next time."Chan has never seen Jisung so serious. He's usually always energetic, bubbly and loud around Felix. This actually surprised him.
But still..."It's just a stupid Art lesson. Doesn't he have enough things to enjoy?"
"No", the silence after was loud. Neither of the boys wanted to continue speaking.
The younger broke the eye contact with Chan and let his hand run through his hair only to clench it in frustration.
"It doesn't look like it but Felix isn't the unbothered, happy and especially perfect boy everyone thinks he is... ", he started bubbling.
"Look all I want is that you're at least going to try next Art lesson and don't make any rude comments. Nothing more, nothing less. Please..."Jisung kept his head low.
Felix must be very important to him."You know Jisung, it also doesn't look like it but I'm not this big of an asshole as everyone thinks I am.", he responded sharply.
After these words Chan's bus arrived and he turned his back on Jisung without giving the boy a second glance. He stepped inside and took a seat. Putting his headphones on, playing his music so loud and trying to ignore the few words that were stuck in his head.
..Not the perfect boy everyone thinks he is..
