The scene was set... a fortnight of forming a bond with the newest addition to their family who now had her own room in the house castle and stayed with Jungkook until she was feeding from animals. He would take her hunting with him and she would always feed from the same person as he did so that mistakes could be avoided. No one wanted to hamper her new life as a vampire or to create the issues that Taehyung and Yumi faced when they first became vampires. They all wanted to protect Nabi from obstacles that they could work together to avoid and they were a family now.

Yumi spent her time with Nabi and it was still early days but the signs were promising and everyone hoped that Nabi would be free to go wherever Yumi went very soon. Yumi's enthusiasm to teach her everything was infectious and both Tae and Jungkook encouraged it as much as they could. Today was the first stage of that and the girls were excited about visiting the witch's house.

When Tae visited Jangmi two weeks ago, they'd discussed the possibility of the girls visiting and staying for the evening. The kind witch was more than happy to help, having never had children of her own, she enjoyed spending time with Yumi so having them both at the same time filled her with a lot of joy. Jangmi rarely saw people nowadays and her life would run out eventually so she couldn't imagine a better way to spend her time. It took a day or two for Yumi to stop mentioning the fact that Tae visited Jangmi and after he'd said she was a nice witch, his daughter couldn't wait to confirm that she'd already told him that.

The scene was set... a fortnight of preparing for the evening where the girls would spend the night at Jangmi's and Tae got to spend the night at Jungkook's. Both men knew that there would be a time when they would have the girls in the house and they were well aware of their hearing capabilities but they wanted their first intimate experience to be without any chance of worrying about interruptions. Yumi was yet to learn about the room that was hers, she spent all her time in Nabi's room for now and it never seemed to be the right time. The couple decided that they needed to work on one thing at a time and settling Nabi in took precedence.

Tae was a ball of anxiety. He'd thought it was such a good idea to entrust the girls to the witch which would free up time that he could spend with Jungkook but now it was here, the nerves ran riot. They'd managed to snatch time together when Jungkook sneaked out in the evenings, once he'd made sure that Nabi was sleeping. She was as inquisitive and nosey as Yumi and much more chatty sometimes, which neither Jungkook or Tae thought was possible. Nabi had a thirst for learning and had already started reading books with Yumi as well as helping Jungkook with the garden.

While in town, Tae heard mutterings of the slaying of a family and it wasn't difficult to work out that people were talking about Nabi. He found out her real name but there wasn't any point using it as she answered to Nabi and when they used her original name there was no response. They hoped that might've brought back some memories like the key to a rusty lock but that hadn't happened so Nabi kept the name Yumi had chosen. The most vital piece of information that he gained was that the little girl was nine years old and had been travelling through the villages with her family to find a new home. Tae couldn't rely on anything he learned or that the rumours were even about Nabi but he was happy to believe that she was nine as there wasn't a great deal of difference between the two girls.

The scene was set... Jungkook worked hard in his bedroom to clean it and brighten it up because he hoped that soon it would be 'their' bedroom and today he knew that's where he would be taking Taehyung. He didn't want any old memories to resurface so he turned his old bedroom into a storage room and chose a bigger room at the top of the house. It was the furthest point away from the girls rooms and a much brighter more airy space. He'd holed himself up in the room, painting the wall and switching furniture around. The broken masquerade mask that he'd painted on the wall spoke for itself and Jungkook still needed a little bit of convincing that this life he was living was real.
