A sight for sore eyes💐

I had just arrived outside the hall to see Mindy waving me over, don't get me wrong shes nice to me ,but she's not really anyone I would like to speak to at this time in the morning. However the only reason she speaks to be is because I became captain of the dance team (she was former captain) and since I became captain she won't seem to stop pestering me.
After taking a few steps forward ,suddenly Linda appeared out of now where. She grabbed my arm guiding me into the hall where we had eventually reached an empty row in the middle of the hall.
"Thank you so much" I say while sitting down next to her.
"No problem, my spider senses started tingling so I knew I had to come and help you" she said jokingly.

There was silence for a few seconds we just sat looking at each other then suddenly I couldn't hold it in and we both burst out laughing for a good few minutes.
The next thing I know Linda has completely stopped laughing ,I gave her a confused look.

"Don't look now y/n" she mumbled
I began to turn around until I paused getting a glimpse of Cindy with Rick and his goons , i swiftly turned my body back around to fully face Linda.

"To late now, she's spotted us" I mumbled giving her a smile.

Mindy-"Hey y/n! are these seats taken?" She questioned while staring at us.

Y/n- before I had time to respond Linda had quickly replied with "yeah they are!" She said sarcastically.
I had sniggered at her response.

However before she even got time to respond, Mindy and her squad had already sat down.
"OH MY GOD!" Linda whispered while pointing in front of us.
"What is it?" I ask while turning my head to see who she was pointing at.

"There new students!" She explained in excitement.

I really think Connie lied about the boys on her hockey team being cute because from what I could tell, they were far from it. Rick who was Mindy's boyfriend noticed our quiet conversation and says to the cow boy in front of us,"Hey, you ducks don't belong here at Eden hall"
Mindy didn't even tell him to knock it off which made me scoff, luckily she hadn't heard me ,but Linda did which made a smile form on her face.
One of the guys next to the cowboy said "what!".

Cowboy responded with,"Hey, easy Russ. They probably think we are someone else" .
He then turned back to face Rick and said "I'm Dwayne ! We're on the new hockey team.
And you are?" While smiling.
Dwayne had put his hand out to Rick for him to shake it.
Cole decided to take the wet chewing gum out of his mouth and put it in Dwayne's hand. I quickly looked over at Linda to see the disgust all over her face, I could feel the anger building up ,but I tried to stay calm.

"Varsity the only hockey team.
State champs?
Now my little brother lost his J.V spot when they brought you yo-yo's in here"
My blood started to boil and the next thing I know, I was already leant over Cindy who definitely wasn't impressed. Once I was close enough, I had grabbed Ricks hair, it felt like an adrenaline rush and a few seconds later I pushed down so hard that he fell forward of his chair.

Once I had stricken I quickly rested back on my chair trying to hold back my laughter while Linda and the new kids were in hysterics.

"Y/n!!!!" Rick shouted in anger.
I turned my head and politely responded with "yes?" In a sarcastic voice. And before he could speak everyone goes silent that's when I turned back around.

"Good one", Linda said while smirking.

Dean Buckley began to talk about the school being built in 1903, tradition of excellence and change.
I overheard Dwayne ask Russ what the Dean was saying and Russ explained it in the worst someone could, but what put a smile on my face was the fact that Dwayne had understood what his friend said.
The Dean then starts to talk about the varsity's 10-year state champion titles, I looked over Mindy's shoulder to see Rick beaming with positivity and then everyone starts cheering for the hockey team , While me and Linda were trying not to laugh at how stupid they looked.

Once everyone had calmed down the Dean begins to introduce the ducks.
"We proudly open our doors ,via scholarships, to the-"

I hear from backstage then, suddenly the curtains begin to fall "What the f*ck" one of the varsity hockey players shouted

Mindy began to burst out into laughter.Me and Linda just stared at wa other in shock ,we both turned to look back on stage to see some kids in helmets, pads,and skates.
They were all piled on top of each other which made me grin.

A boy who was in the middle of the group wearing a green ducks jersey confidently said "Hi. We're the ducks".
This brings the whole hall into laughter.
I'm looking at the group until a come across a boy who was almost dressed up in all black expert for his army jacket ,he also had a bandana which kept his shoulder length black hair out of his face.

Before I knew it I had stopped laughing and he'd notice me staring at him, I was completely mesmerised at who this strange yet good looking boy was?
And before I could give him a smile he had quickly looked straight down at the floor. Linda noticed me staring at him and she says "Y/n!!! DO YOU THINK HES CUTE??!?"

A few seconds before answering her I stared at him just a little longer (don't get me wrong he is cute ,but we haven't even spoke to each other) is what I would have said if Connie asked me ,so all I said was "I'm not sure tbh" while trying to keep a straight face however she must have seen straight through me because she had began to tease me.
"Y/N'S GOT A CRUSH" she said repeatedly while shouting.

As soon as the words left her mouth I had to make sure none around us heard what she said luckily none did, I began to turn bright red , just the thought of him was still in my head , but why?

the Dean then began to tell all the students to go to first period ,but a small hand lightly tapped my shoulder I turned around to see Rick mouthing, "YOUR DEAD"....
