~CHAPTER 3~

I realized I had been staring for a while now.
But so was he.

The lure in his eyes became as determined as ever, as he took his steps towards me.
My heart began to beat like crazy and I forgot to breathe. Once again, my body was defying my will.
It's just frustrating.

The sight of his perfect symmetrical face quenched something in me that had been deprived of, all these years.
For the first time, I was at a loss of words.
The mumble jumble of thoughts and emotions, put me in a fix.

He looked into my eyes intently & his lips curved into a smile.
And needless to say, my heart melted.
Melted into a puddle.
And jumping into it, would feel Dirty but fun.
.

Somebody's presence got me out of the trance and I looked away to my side.
Perhaps the tension was palpable as the intruder's face twisted into discomfort.
'Am I interrupting ?' He asked.
That's the same guy as before. The letter boy.
No-
Yes-

'Of course, not', I said with a warm smile.
I hoped he felt at ease as he flashed a gorgeous smile and exposed a perfect set of white teeth.
Was all of God's good looks bounty unleashed upon him ? Was there nothing left for the rest of us peasants with spaced teeth and random breakouts ?

'Hey! But, we've just met. There's so much to catch up on.' George said, as he furrowed his brows and pursed his lips. It seemed as if he really wanted to continue this conversation.

Unlikely my friend, highly unlikely.

'I don't think so. Do we?' I crossed my hands at my chest and squint my eyes.

'Dont we ? I mean, its hard to imagine you not following me around the house, dying to talk to me. Have times really changed that much?! ' He said, with a bitchy smirk.

That stung.
It was probably just him trying to be playful with his weird sense of humor.
But the audacity.
He has no rights to expose me like that. Especially, when he knows nothing of it.

At this moment, I could've taken a dart arrow down my throat than sit here, and watch him ridicule me and my affection for him. Affection in the past.
They say I am too opinionated 'for a girl'. Maybe that's what makes me, ME.
And I don't hate it.

Raising my head, I posed a confident smile and said,"In that case, I'll probably just see you over a family dinner sometime."

He looked amused.
Which made me nervous.

I turned around on my heel and greeted the new boy.
"Hey, sorry about that. So? How'z you ?"

'I'm good. Thanks!. Saw you in class today and it seemed like I could make a few friends.'
His hopeful eyes made him look so adorable. Almost like a puppy.

'Sure! What are you into?'

'Excuse me ?'
'What kind of hobbies are you into? And also I'll have to ask before it gets any weird. What is your name?'. Our giggles were so genuine. It was as if, they blended together in a musical symphony.

Jeremiah.
That's such a boy next door name.

'What ? You find it funny ?'
'No. No. Isn't that just too biblical for you?' I tried smirking.
His eyes widened a bit. He was caught off guard.
He thought it was too cheesy. Oh my god ! Please save me the second hand embarrassment for some other day.

"Most certainly not, I'm a very nice, good boy. What makes you think otherwise ?"
Something in his eyes, a glint of some emotion made me feel that there was more to him than just what meets the eye. He was most definitely, not a very nice, good boy. And that knowing him, was going to be a ride.

The few boys that I had dated in the past had given me such a chaotic time that his calmness felt very unusual to me.

Would he turn into something horrible too? Would we turn into something distasteful too ?

He seemed nice. But don't they all do, in the beginning ?
I chose to ignore my thoughts, and get out of my shell to let him in.

I dont want to have to refer to you as the pretty girl wi5h cute dimples so could you pls just tell me your name ?
It's Shirin.

Nice meeting you Shirin. And I really hope we keep meeting.
