Chapter 5

Erza's POV:

Three years had past after I was released from the prison by Fairy Tail. The Magic Council had apologized to me about the loss, but it seems like I had lost everything that I could never get back, I had almost punch that person when he said that.

"Erza, I miss you so much! I'm so sorry that we couldn't get you out sooner!" The first thing Lucy did was crying and hugging me.

"Th-that's okay." It had been awkward, I haven't seen Lucy for three years.

"Erza." Gray had remained calm, but only for like a second, and he hugged me tightly.

Natsu was the last one to greet me, and he seemed to be very calm, which is very surprising, he only gave me a hug, but said nothing much.

"Welcome back, Erza!" Lucy yelled when we reached our guild, it was a totally different guild, and master was sitting at the back of the guild, drinking tea as always.

"Erza!" Master waved his hand at me, "Oh my! I miss you so much."

All the people in the guild stopped their own business and turned to look at me, "Erza!" Everybody cheered, Mirajane smiled, "Welcome back, Erza!"

There was a few new members that I didn't recognize, one of them came and hugged me.

The girl looked up, "You don't remember me Erza? I'm Levy!"

I stared at her with my mouth opened, Levy has a long hair, and her chest is big (XD), "Oh ya, Levy!" I hugged her back awkwardly.

"Juvia miss Erza-chan too!" Juvia came running.

"Juvia! You're much prettier!" I exclaimed, quietly I added, "How did you and Gray go?"

"He's my boyfriend now, he had proposed to marry me, but I rejected." I listened with my mouth open and eyes wide, "You, rejected, him?"

"Ya." Juvia nodded, as if it's a very obvious thing, "I think we need more time."

"Alright Juvia." Lucy came and said, "Erza, come, I'll show you the dorm room!"

When she led me to my dorm room, it was upstairs, and it was like living in a gorgeous hotel.

"Thanks." I said to Lucy.

"There's no need to." Lucy said, "I, I think we should go back to normal, like we did before." And then she shook her head, and gave me a sad smile, "I know it won't be the same."

She left the room without waiting for a reply.

There's one more person I need to see.

I opened the window, and jumped out of it.

Walking toward his home, along the street, it was different from before too, I would be lost now if Lucy hadn't gave me a map.

I stopped beside a restaurant, it was suppose to be his house.

And then, I saw a familiar face.

Jellal, walking with Ultear into the restaurant, Ultear was talking excitedly to him, but when she saw me, she skidded to a halt.

"What's wrong?" Jellal asked, and Ultear shook her head, "Nothing." But Jellal had already spotted me.

Jellal held Ultear's hand deliberately with his gaze fixed on me, surprised, and said, "Let's go." And walked into the restaurant.

The light of dawn casted in through the curtain, I was staring up at the ceiling, didn't realized that it was already morning, it feels like I've been staring at it for the whole night.

Ringing of my phone interrupted all my negative thoughts, I picked it up.

"Hello. This is Erza Scarlet."

"Erza, this is Ultear, I want to talk to you. At the same restaurant yesterday me and Jellal were, 10'o clock, see you there." And the phone call ended.

I get off of my bed, it felt easier than before, when everything hasn't gone yet, how I manage to get Lucy and Natsu up from the bed, and how funny it was when I get kicked on the face when waking up Natsu.

I tried to find a dress for me to wear, until I realized l can change my cloth with my magic, I almost forgot how to use it anymore. I tried several time until I kind of figured it out.

Running downstairs, my dorm room had kept out all the noise all the members were making, I went to the bar, "One glass of milk please."

"Oh, 50 cents." Mirajane said without looking up.

"Uh..." I stammered, the Magic Council had gave me money, but they're all hundreds.

"Oh right." Mirajane looked up, putting a glass of milk on the table, "Free for today."

I drank it down, and looked at my watch, nine thirty.

"Where are you going?" Mirajane asked, when I headed to the entrance.

"Meet some old friends." I replied.

"But Jellal-"

I waved my hand at her, and she stopped whatever she was going to say, I don't want to hear it.

Ultear was early as I was expected, I went to sit in front of her.

"Do you want a drink?" Ultear asked.

"Say what you have to say." I replied.

"Right." She said, looking down at her hands, which were moving uneasily.

"You do know that  we are married." She began, "And you do know that we have a baby girl."

I stared at her, too shock to say anything.

"I would have given Jellal up to you, you know." She continued, "But it's too late, we have a baby girl."

Expression in her eyes turned from coldness to pleading, "Please, leave us alone!" She begged, "I beg you! You can't let Merry live without a father, she can't live without a father! Please! Just leave us alone, and all will be well again, please."

Coldness gripped me, I looked away. Why would I care about her baby girl? But my selfishness stabbed me like knives.

"You hear me, Scarlet?" Ultear demanded, "Leave us, will you? She's still young, she can't lose her father now, you know that. Please!" She sobbed.

I looked down, words stuck in my throat, but I just can't let them out.

At last I nodded.

"Thank you." Ultear said, "I know you're not as cold-blooded."

She put the money down on the table, turned and walked away.

I felt the whole world was swirling around me, I just let go the precious thing I have, and the only thing I have.
