Christa's point of view
I was alone in the middle of the living room in a party that wasn't even mine... And everything I could think about was him... Bryan. t's been a year... A year! And I'm still massively in love with him.
I went out to the front porch looking at the road that was wet from the rain. And I couldn't get him out of my mind. What happened? Was it my fault? Did I pushed my husband away? Maybe I could've tried harder...
I wish I could actually find the answer to those questions... But I couldn't... I remember how happy I used to be when we were toghether... I woke up in the morning and just by watching him looking at me I knew my day was going to be great... But suddenly that wasn't happening anymore.
I don't want to miss him... But I do!
"Why so lonely?" A deep voice mumbled behind me. I turn around to see who was talking to me. And saw a blonde gorgeous man standing right by my side.
"I just needed some fresh air" I answered looking to the drive way.
"Well... I was just wondering why such a beautiful lady was doing all alone in my welcome party..." He said.
"Oh, your the new guy...!" I joked.
"I guess I am!" He said getting closer.
"I'm Adam Finchley, the new detective of Chapel Hill's Police Department"
"Nice to meet you Adam, I'm Christa McDannel, graduated nurse at the Chapel Hill community hospital." I joked
"Oou, Ok..." He laughed.
"Are you a friend of the family?" he asked standing by my side.
"No, actually... My daughter is Nathan's... friend... I just... You know what? I don't know what the hell I'm doing here... I should go..." I suggested.
"No, please... stay..." He demanded.
"Ok..."
"So, how old's your daughter?" he asked offering me a seat.
"She's seventeen" I answerd as I sat by his side.
"She's your only one?" He asked
"Yes... thank God! What about you?" I laughed.
"I don't have children... I didn't find the perfect woman to have them with... I thought I did, but I was wrong" He said drinking he's glass of wine.
"Well... I guess... Life can be very cruel sometimes..." I said.
"At least we can always try to make it right.... and find our true happiness." He said looking at me.
"I don't know... I'm not so sure anymore." I Confessed.
We were quiet for a couple of seconds as I looked for my daughter In the side yard. Where could she be? What was she doing? Is she alright? How's she doing with Nathan?
"Worried for the daughter?" He asked laughing.
"What? No, I'm not worried.... I'm just... concerned..." I corrected him.
"Oh, please! I'm a detective... I guess I can say if a mother is worried..."
"Ok... maybe I am... but what's wrong about it? She's not... experienced with boys." I explained.
"Nathan's a nice boy... You don't have to worry." he said.
"Ok...if you say so..."
Angella's point of view.
Nathan grabbed my hand and led me through tha backyard.
