I was standing in the back of the club, leaning against the wall. It was packed house and Quest was absolutely killing it on the turntables. It was wall to wall with people, making it a smoky, humid hot spot on this sultry July night. I peeled my shirt off my chest, feeling the beads of sweat that had been held at bay by the combo of my v neck tee and button up begin to slide down my chest. Layers were a bad idea. I gave two quick pulls and let it fall back to my chest before placing my drink on the table in front of me. I reached up and flipped my Yankees cap that had been sitting low on my eyes backwards, flipping my sweaty bangs back neatly before pulling the brim down to my neck so my hat sat higher on my forehead.
The club was full capacity and it seemed to me that it was mostly women. Not that I was complaining. It had to be 2:1 women and most of them had slowly congregated around me, each one taking their time to give me a few once overs. I had grown accustomed to this over the years, I would sit in the back and wait patiently for the first one to have the courage to approach me and then the rest would follow. That time had already come and gone, with the exception of a few who were currently and not very slyly looking me up and down. One of them was pausing about two feet past my face, obviously sizing me up. Tell me how I'm looking, babe. I thought to myself as I picked my gin and tonic up to lift to my lips to hide my smirk. I felt my phone vibrating and took it out to check it. Nancy and her new husband had the girls tonight and they probably missed me. I smiled when I saw my notifications, just instagram blowing up with the various pictures of me circulating around. I saw a new one from Quest who captured me mid smirk. I laughed and looked up towards him, nodding to him as I slipped my phone back in my pocket. The girl who had been sizing me up had finally had enough liquid courage as she was closing on me, little by little.
"You're Jimmy Fallon." she said, soaking the sultry voice on a little heavy. I laughed and nodded as I put my drink down and fixed my hat and hair. "I am. Did my face give it away or did you find the answer in my jeans?" She blushed very quickly and was fumbling with her phone. She mumbled an apology and went to walk away when I reached forward, laughing. I caught her hand and pulled her to my body. "Don't worry. You're hardly the first one I caught doing it. You're just the one that had the most guts to continue staring." She didnt look up from the floor so I took my hand and lifted her chin. "I was extremely flattered." She smiled, her green eyes glistening in the neon lights of the bar sign above us. "Did you want a picture?" She nodded shyly and I smiled down at her. "You should be more confident. It looked fantastic on you a few minutes ago. You're a beautiful woman." I reached for her phone. "May I?" She swallowed and nodded. "Okay, but only if you smile. Deal?" She nodded again as I held up her phone, pointing the screen towards us. I pulled her face to mine and she smiled. I grinned widely as I let my hand fall from her tan shoulder and down her black crop top she was wearing to rest on her side. She moved closer to me and I looked at her for a second before slipping my hand to rest in her front pocket. I squeezed her thigh softly. She grinned and I looked into her eyes leaning forward for a moment. She took a deep breath in and closed her eyes. I smiled and got within inches of her lips and took the pic. I immediately pulled back and looked at the picture. "Now there's that confidence." I smiled as I handed her her phone and she stared at it for a moment. "Thanks, Mr. Fallon." I nodded as I picked up my drink and took a sip. "You're welcome..." I paused, bringing my glass down from my lips slightly. She looked at her phone for a moment before slipping it in the right cup of her bra. I tried to mask it, but I felt my eyebrows raise and my body instinctively lean forward towards her. "Sloane." She grinned, flipping her long black hair to the side, the smile on her face growing larger. I took another sip, slipping an ice cube into my mouth before setting it down and grinned at her as I sucked on the ice. "Well, you're welcome Sloane. Enjoy your night. And please, call me Jimmy." She nodded and began to walk away. "Oh and Sloane?" She turned to look over her shoulder. "Keep up the confidence, it seriously does something for me." She bit her lip and looked me up and down again, pausing where she had before. "Keep my name rolling off your tongue and it might just do something for me." She said in a damn near whisper before she walked off towards the dance floor.
