Mika didn't cry, even how painful her chest hurt, her heart breaking. She was constantly feeling nauseous since yesterday, and she didn't have the appetite to drink or consume anything. She just wanted to lay in bed and wait for Akashi to come back to ask him. But what would she ask him? It wasn't like they were really going out. Maybe... maybe at least they were friends. And she should just accept the fact that he already had a fiance--someone who could make him smile so brightly.

Her heart ached again.

However, she couldn't let her parents see how wrecked she felt inside. There was no need to make them worry.

Mika dolled up and prepared to go to school.

"Mika," her mom called her gently, and she wondered if she failed to show them a cheery facade. "I need to talk to you."

"Okay." She sat at the dining table to try to eat her breakfast as she listened to her parent. The ham and scrambled eggs made her want to throw up but she forced herself to swallow the food.

"Your father's work has been transferred to Cove." The older woman reached for her daughter's hand. "We've been short on money and the offer there is really good. I am free to transfer there, too."

"Cove?" Mika couldn't believe what she was hearing. "But that's in another country."

"Yes, but that's where your dad and I met and where all our relatives are. We won't be alone." She licked her dried lips. "We're to go next week."

"Next week? But that's too soon!"

"I know. But the company's paying for everything, we can't say no. Would you like to come with us? We won't force you, of course. We know you already have a life here."

"I-I--" She thought of Shelter and her school life. "I'm not sure yet." The thought of leaving Akashi and the pain he caused her was tempting but could she really leave everything behind and live in another country with her parents?

Her mother tucked Mika's hair behind her ear. "It's alright, sweetheart. Just think about it." The act reminded her of a once sweet memory but now felt so distant.

"Okay, mom." She finished her meal and went to school.

Slut.

Whore.

Bitch.

Those words were written on papers that filled Mika's shoe locker. There's even the word "die" written at its door. Her white indoor shoes had "ugly" written with red paint on them. Huh? What was happening? Who would do such a thing to her? She looked around and noticed the students snickering and saying words like "she deserved it" and "that ugly bitch".
