A Love Like This

This heartbreak feels cold, ice cold. It's as if a hailstorm was wreaking havoc in the pits of his stomach. It was a devastation, an amalgamation of despair and hurt. It was realizing that he would eventually have to pick himself up, dust himself off and begin again.

Heartbreak was unexpecting. Even if you believe it is going to happen eventually you can never be prepared for the pain it brings. One minute you're at the top of the world and the next you've fallen off that high pedestal.

He was left to fend for himself against the nightmarish monster that dwindled below, running to no particular destination to escape their grasps before it ate the last of who he was.

Why was it possible someone could provide so much joy and pain at the same time?

Taehyung found himself learning the true extent of love. A love so painful, a love that flourished at his demise. Who could have thought a thing of such beauty was so hideous too.

How tragically beautiful it was.

Perhaps if he had never learned what love was he wouldn't be here. Wouldn't feel like this.

"Taehyung what are you doing here? What's the matter, love!?"

The wooden door cracked open, letting light spill from the large abode, it illuminated Taehyung's drenched face and body, even with all the rain pouring around him.

Although the water masked his already faint smell his distress was as clear as day on his face. Taehyungs hugged himself, standing there freezing in the bitter cold with his teeth clattering.

The loss of physical warmth and the feeling of emptiness in his heart no one else could fill but the one who caused this. His shirt was soaked through, latching onto his skin, and sucking all the warmth away like a leech. He was sad, tired, and hurt. A maelstrom of heartbreak.

Kwon Sung-hwan hurriedly rushed the sobbing beta into the warmth of his home. His eyebrows creased in worry as he pulled the distraught male to his neck, releasing calming pheromones. It was heart-wrenching to witness his best friend break down into fits of sobs.

The sound of wailing and suffering echoed throughout the house. Taehyung's bottom lip quivered, and his shoulders dropped in resignation.

It was a sight and sound he never wanted to bear witness to because his friend was the sweetest person he knew.

An innocence as pure as a white lily was not made to be tarnished with such grief. A flower as such as him was made to be cherished and loved not trampled upon until it could no longer flourish.

At this point, having had time to allow what had happened to sink in he could hold the heartbreak for so long before he broke. Taehyung fell to the safety net in which was his friend's loving embrace, a disheveled maelstrom comprised of grief and anguish.

His body was wracked with an onslaught of sobs and tears, muffled as he covered his face with shaking hands. Taehyung mumbled incoherent things through his hands, trying desperately to grasp onto some words.

"I-It h-hurts. M-Make it stop!"

Kwon ran his hands up and down his back, not caring he himself was getting drenched. The wails emanated from those lips which could be smiling breaking his heart over and over again.

"Where does it hurt love?"

Taehyung's eyes looked up, tears still swimming in them. He held the fabric where his heart would be. It hurt so bad despite no physical damage done to it.
