The next day in school, we are asked to pick up Hero Names. Well, makes sense since we have received internship requests to work alongside Pro Heroes. And Hero Names are essential in the Pro Hero line of work.
When it's my turn, I choose, "Hero of Hope: Lithos" as my alias.
I got the most number of internship options. Almost as much as others got combined. And, I decided to accept Pro Hero, Edgeshot's request.
In the week following, Edgeshot taught me several things. He said, he saw potential in me. He told me, how even a mediocre level and generic quirk could be made extraordinarily powerful if trained well and if one knows how to bring out the best of it. Indeed, Edgeshot's Quirk, Foldabody is indeed a kinda generic quirk, ability to fold your body. It wasn't anything powerful like AM's punches or destructive like Endeavor's flames and many others. Yet still he is the No. 5 Hero. He first must have had felt just the ability to bend body, useless.... But slowly, folding his body parts, and then refined it to be able to fold every part, and then in any direction, then folding it to layer the body into thin sheets. Then, using this as advantage, being able to zip away at extremely fast speeds, making his edges pointed and what not. He surely did bring out the besttt anyone could do with such a quirk. Same can be said with all the Pro Heroes – AM, Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Rabbit etc. They aren't strong because they have a cheat skill, but because they upgraded their skills to such a level.
He gave me tips like increasing the strength of minions I control, their numbers, and how far I could control them.
I improved my skills under him.
After the work studies were over, we had to appear for our final exams. It was going to consist of a written test and a practical exam.
.
I secured 2nd in the written test.
And for the practical test... we will have to fight our teachers!
Though they will be wearing metal restraints and.. we're allowed to escape away from them, and that will count as a win as well. Or, to handcuff them within 30 mins.
And.... I'm paired with... Bakugou for the test... and our opponent is AM himself.
Man, AM. Are we really supposed to fight him? I mean, he's got restraints on, but still...
I turn to find Bakugo by my side.
"Bakugo... what would you like to do?"
"Whaddaya mean, huh?!"
"Since it's AM against us, logically speaking, we should seek to escape from him as the best solution—"
"Don't give me that crap."
"Phew! Nice, so you think the same way as me. I am not sure if this is the best way to approach the problem... but this is going to be interesting."
I continue, "Bakugo... you're strong, but this time... you got to believe in me."
"What do you want, brat?", he asked annoyed.
"Can I leave the first 10 mins of the fight to only you? I promise to join in after that."
"Hah, sure. I always wanted to have a one-on-one with AM. You would have better chances, if you entrust the whole fight to me and ran away from here while I fight him."
"You know, that is not going to happen", I reply smugly.
He returns a smile.
We both can finally go on all out, use every ounce of our strength, if it's All Might, we're against.
