The toilet was only a step away so I slide over and crouch down beside it. Holding my hair back, I dry heave. Nothing came up because I hadn't had anything that morning. It's probably the anxiety I've been having recently. I continue my slow pace of getting ready. I grab my toothbrush, Prozac and Xanax from inside the medicine cabinet. I start brushing my teeth, making sure to brush every single tooth extremely thoroughly. I hate having dirty teeth. After I'm finished brushing my teeth, I set it back in the medicine cabinet. With the water faucet running, I get my pills out of the bottle, pop them in my mouth, and bend over to scoop the running water into my mouth. I swallow both pills with ease.

I take a look at myself in the mirror and start putting my hair up. I keep working my way up with my hair, getting it higher and higher on my head. While inching my hair up, I look side to side and smoothe it out, making sure I don't have any bumps. When my hair is finally where I want it, I wrap the ponytail twice around my hair. Then I pull some baby hairs out of the sides so I have a little something framing my face. I look at myself again and sigh. Disappointed with what's looking back at me.

Finally, I go get dressed. A light and simple blue hoodie and black tights. I slip my dark grey vans on. Right before I head out the door, I grab my purse and keys on the hook next to the front door. I need to get this done before I change my mind. It may make things easier for me to move on and forget. I finally open the door and step out into the crisp, dry winter air. I notice that it's overcast today. Just how I like it. I make it to my white 2004 Volkswagon Beetle. I unlock the car and get inside. I put the key in the ignition and turn it until it starts up. I place both hands on the wheel and tuck my left foot under my right thigh. I put the car in reverse and back out of my driveway. Off to the courthouse.
