"That one short minute gives me in her sight:
Do thou but close our hands with holy words" -Romeo Act 2 Scene 6

The rest of that day I stayed silent in her office. Every class she would peek her head in to see me. I decided to take a nap at the end of the day.

I had spaced out during the drive home and Mina seemed to leave me be for some time.

I laid across her bed, my hair was still wet from the shower. I had a book in hand when I noticed the sun going down.

She was in her office space, and I didn't want to bother her working after I had gotten out.

Boredom was consuming me, everything had become so dull when I wasn't with her. Now that it was getting dark I couldn't hardly stand it.

Finally I got up to go see her. Tip toeing to the door I listened in. As expected only a quiet tapping echoed.

I gripped the knob and slowly cracked it just enough for it to go unnoticed. She sat perfectly straight typing something.

Paperwork I assumed, my eyes studied her. Her bottom lip was tucked, something she did when she was focused.

I stayed watching her for a moment longer, until she sighed.

I quietly knocked on the side of the door hoping to catch her attention. She looked up smiling.

God she's so gorgeous.

"You're finished?" I nodded fidgeting with my fingers. She waved me over.

I eagerly came to her where she brought me into her embrace. Without thinking I connected our lips.

She pulled me onto her lap deepening the kiss. Forgetting myself I leaned further in moaning.

She backed away looking down at me with amusement. I had already flushed red.

I placed my head into her shirt to avoid looking at her. A chuckle escaped her, "I have a little bit more work to do, do you want to go find something for dinner?".

I hummed a yes removing my body from hers.

As I rummaged through the fridge I realized we needed to go to the store. It took me a few minutes to find something.

Cooking wasn't my talent, Mina had been pretty good at it though.

Finally starting what I had grabbed I heard the older woman approaching. "Can we take a minute to have a conversation sweetheart?", I faced her ready to talk.

"After today I wanted to see if you needed anybody to, you know, talk to" her eyes searched mine.

Before my brain could quite process I already began talking. "I talk to you", "A professional y/n".

I shook my head pulling away from her view, she filled the gap of silence. "I can listen, and I love to, but I can't offer any real help".

My voice rose, "I don't need help". She tilted her head, "You hid under your desk this morning incoherently mumbling, I mean you didn't even realize where you were".

"I DON'T NEED HELP" I repeated, she stayed with a blank expression not giving in. "Yes, you do" the way she responded as if she knew what was best got under my skin.

"Stop pretending you know everything, you live alone, you are unmarried with no kids at like 45, you know nothing" My feet carried me toward the room I slept in before hers.

I hadn't looked at her but I could tell she stood frozen at the table. I slammed the door.

It seemed like I was only there for a few minutes but before I knew it it had been a few hours.

I expected her to knock, or to say my name, send me a message, anything.

I cracked the door, everything was as it was when I stormed out. Even what I took out for dinner.

A sudden ache ripped through me, what I had said might of torn her apart. I peeked up the steps, no bedroom light.

I decided to make my way up the stairs, slowly to prevent any noise. Once I was to the top I skipped all the doors to her room.

The door was shut and I knocked, silence.

Tears were now threatening to fall from my eyes, I checked the knob. It was unlocked, I opened it.

Her shadow lay across the bed, I slowly came to it where I immediately slid on.

I leaned over her still body, I was sure she was sleeping.

"I'm sorry Mina, I love you and I will do whatever you want if you think it's best" the whisper went unnoticed for a moment.

Finally I cried softly so upset with myself for upsetting her, why was I so cruel?

Her arm quickly hugged my side and her head turned to see me. "Go get your pjs on and come back to sleep with me please" she begged ever so slightly causing my heart to flutter in my chest.

"Can I wear yours?", "Always". I went to her closet in the dark searching for something and undressing.

I laid on the mattress again and huddled up to her. She was warm and when I was beside her, nothing else mattered.

I let out a heavy breath. She placed both hands on my head, "You know how much you mean to me?".

I didn't respond, "You are genuine beauty in its purest form". I could feel her breath on the tip of my nose.

"Really", I whispered. "I never lie", she kissed the place where my tears once were.
